Return ATRIX: watch out for dust getting into screen

I have loved my atrix since I got it last week..but then I started noticing dust getting into the screen..and i've never even put it into my pocket..so imagine what would happen if i did!...so sad to return it..but this is pretty unacceptable!!

BEWARE POTENTIAL BUYERS!

anyone else got this issue?

I came across 2 with this issue. Just a poor seal which is a common issue with smart phones nowadays if you're unlucky. The one I have now which I have had since Feb 22nd is flawless.
 
well im doing an exchange for another one through amazon today..wishin my new one will be properly sealed..but i dont have my hopes up.
 
I've had mine since feb 23rd...keep it in my pocket 75% of the day and not a speck of dust under the screen...don't abandon hope yet...there ARE quality Atrix's out there! Hope your new one is problem free...I love this phone!!!

Same here, only had mine 3 weeks now, no issues whatsoever with dust under the screen in any environment, pocket, cupholder, workbench, etc. :cool:
 
I can confirm the dust issue. Its noticeable enough that I can see it when the screen is displaying a black page (the CNN app for instance). The seal on my Atrix is so poor that a very small piece of cat hair got into it! After some strategic fingers presses and air blowing I managed to get it out. Still nothing I can do about the dust particles though.

I gotta say...coming from a Nokia E71, the build quality on these Atrix's is pretty poor. The seal blows, the battery case creaks while you hold it and doesn't really feel that secure. And don't even get me started on the battery life. All the reviews are saying how great it is. The E71 gave me DOUBLE the amount of life with the exact same amount of use.

I want to like the Atrix, I really do, but these negatives are starting to add up.
 
screen protectors dont help...dust gets in regardless..throughthe back and earpiece...its not built like the ip4 where the glass is glued to the screen.

You might want to return yours under warranty if it's that bad. I've had mine for half a year and there's no dust so far *knocks on wood*. With most Android phones, battery life will always be an issue. The Atrix has much better battery life than some of the other Android phones out there.
