Return DX2 and get Droid 3?

I recently got the Droid X2, and I am still in my 14-day window. I am considering getting rid of my Droid X2 and getting a Droid 3 instead.

I currently have the OG Droid, and the only advantage I see of the Droid X2 is the larger screen - other than that, the Droid 3 seems like a better bet.

Also the known issues with the Droid X2 concern me, I don't like the idea of holding onto a known phone with issues with the hopes that someone will fix it.

Is anyone else in this situation? Any thoughts to share?

If I get the Droid 3, does my 14-day window start over? Just worried the Droid 3 will have its own issues on launch.

14 day window will restart.

The D3 will have 4.0" screen, and the X2 a 4.3", so not much different there.
I'm actually doing the same thing. Just picked my X2 up yesterday, but I plan to switch to the D3 asap.

I would still have my DX2 if the issues imnot mentions were not there. Rooters are running a script to tame the device, but that partially works and the random reboots and audio pops still happen (so does the lag, but takes longer to happen).

The very reason I have not already purchased the Droid 3 is my lack of trust in Moto allocating ram correctly in their firmware. I am hoping the DX2 was a fluke. Surely they would not screw a device up like this with a device they are also trying to position for enterprise (business) customers.

Still, IF the firmware is better on the D3, YES- I would get the D3 over the DX2:

1. Should have better battery life
2. The 4" pentile display with QHd should look even better than the DX2 (which was good IMO)
3. 8gb more internal storage
4. Keyboard in slim design (assuming it is good)
5. 4430 chipset is more powerful and efficient than the Tegra 2, plus much better video codec support.
6. Gingerbread NOW, with no wait for an update.
7. World phone (for worldly people that are careful with data usage)

For the folks not having any DX2 issues- fantastic, but not my luck nor others, based on local corporate store reports of returns.

I thought all specs were the same except for:

screen size
keyboard
gingerbread
quad band

If the processors and ram are the same.. unless gingerbread clears up any of the software issues, I wouldn't expect anything different. It's my understanding these are the same as the x2.

I've thought about trading in as I'm in my 14 day window as well.
However, I do like having the larger screen and a physical keyboard doesn't matter to me.

Verizon rep said the 14-day window would not restart.

This is correct, since people could then game their small return window. In fact, if you return a device and do not immediately get another device, VZW will null the discount even though you never kept a device. I had to go to a CS manager to get my discount reinstated, when I returned the DX2. CS must be getting some issues reported about he DX2, since they did reinstate my early discount, after reviewing DX2 product status in CS.
