Help Return Policy/weird question

I am eventually planning on getting the HTC Rezound, but right now I heard that Verizon is doing something where you can call it and get a hotspot service and then get unlimited. I don't know how long this will last so I am planning on getting a phone now. In order to get the phone now I have to go to verizon and get the $300 one.

Is it possible I could get the phone now, buy one cheaper from wirefly/amazon and then return the $300 phone to Verizon?

I do not have any smartphone as of now otherwise I would just call in and get the unlimited data package right now.

I believe Verizon gives you 15 days within which to return a phone but may charge you a $35 restocking fee. If you return a phone and buy one on your own, you'll have to activate it yourself on Verizon's web site. To do that you'll have to know what you're doing.

Also, if you think you're being clever by returning a phone so you can cash in on buying it inexpensively elsewhere, make sure you read the fine print before purchasing the new phone. You may be able to do it only if you are a new Verizon customer.

Yea, I thought about that. I just went ahead and got the phone I wanted since I got some free stuff with it along with the unlimited data package.

Thanks for the help :)
