Return Policy?

I just purchased the Nexus S and it is a sweet phone. However, with rumors with it coming to Verizon with 4G I may be returning it. With that said, I purchased it through Best Buy's mobile store. The woman told me that the phone had a 30 day return policy, but to cancel with Tmobile it had to be done within 14 days. Is this correct? If I cancel with Tmobile on the 14th day then I essentially get an unlocked Nexus S for 200$? I just want to make sure I don't get locked into any 2 year contract with Tmobile. Thanks guys!

I'd call Tmobile on this, because when I asked Tmobile the same question (before I bought the phone) they said they honor whatever Best Buy's policy is. I even double checked, and asked her - "so if I have to return the phone up to 30-days, I will be able to also cancel the contract at that time?" and she said; "Yes, because you are buying it through Best Buy, and we have to honor their setup."

But just in case I was misinformed by the Tmo rep I spoke to, I'd call them yourself, and see what they say. In fact, I may call Tmo and double check this as well, to be sure. Although I am hoping I don't have to return this phone - I still want to cover all my basis - just in case. :)

Thanks a lot, I'll give them a call as well. Let me know what you find out!

I'm trying to return mines due to my Nexus S overheating but when they tried to exchange it for a new one they said the computer said it could not be returned once it has been opened. I bought mines from a Best Buy Mobile store.

Needless to say, I am pissed. I have to go back after work to see if they can.

I did a hard reset and still it was overheating. My gf also has one but hers doesn't overheat so I tried to use her battery and still my phone overheated. I know phones get hot when you are using apps and such but not when they sit idle.

The manager at the BB Mobiile store gave me a long talk about how this phone has a fast gpu and didn't want to hear me explaining that there has to be something wrong since it heats up while idle.

Wish me luck and I'll post the results when I get back.

The manager you spoke to sounds like an idiot!

Yes, please let us know if you are able to return/get a refund on your phone. As I had them put it in writing on my receipt 30-day return, as well as triple checked as to if I wasn't happy with the phone after using for awhile, would I be able to return it, and cancel my contract - they said yes.

As mentioned earlier, I am hoping not to have to return the phone - but should I need to, then I want to know that I am covered! :)

I was told by Tmo today that in California the Tmo contract can be shut off within 30 days. That is CA law. So I guess state law supersedes Tmo & BB policy.
