Help Return without exchange?

Hi,

I am wondering if it is possible to return the T-Bolt to Verizon without exchanging it? For me the phone is a little too big. Do they allow that?

What will happen with the 2 year contract I signed?

Will I receive a full refund?

there is a 14 day return policy... they might charge you a restocking fee... but if you exchange it for another phone you shouldn't have any problem... if you want to terminate your contract there might be some other fees... but just switching the phone within the first 14 days should be no problem...

If you return it you most likely will have to pay a $30 restocking fee, but not if you exhange it. Did you do a new contract or an upgrade? If you did a new contract you may have a termination fee but if you just upgraded you can set up a different phone with the plan. And yes, you should receive full refund.

The last time I returned a device, they charged a restocking fee on the retail price of the device. Since it was a $500 unit that I got on contract for like $250, they wanted to charge a $75 restocking fee.

Aside from the potential restocking fees, the service fees and any activation fees will be refunded or waived.

If you can prove the phone was defective (using the poor battery life as an example), you can sometimes get managers to waive the restocking fee.. that's what I did when I returned the Galaxy Tab. I made the argument that the software was defective, and another unit wouldn't fix the software bugs that made it unusable. (It was, too.. the DLNA app crashed every time I tried to use it.)

You could probably make the argument that a 4-hour battery life is a design defect, and another phone isn't going to fix the problem.

If you got it from a VZW corp store:
You will receive a full refund minus the $35 restocking fee. A $36 activation fee which will be billed on your final invoice will appear either way. The 2 year contact as long as you are within 14 days will terminate with out a plenty.

I'm sorry that I don't have any useful input to contribute to this thread.

But is blows my mind how many people sign contracts/purchase expensive devices without asking or determining their return/exchange options.

Just my .02

Not just that, but also how people are so quick to sign contracts and buy (or 'charge') and expensive purchase without actually wanting or knowing they will be comfortable with what they're buying.

:o

For example I know a person who just bought a car and brought it back because it "wasn't what they wanted." So the only thing I could say was: "If it's not what you wanted, then you shouldn't have bought it..."

If I am about to purchase anything which I consider an important purchase, I do extremely thorough research on the product, hear what other people have to say, and also see or try the item for myself beforehand. Whether it's a video game, phone, car, or computer- I want to know what I'm getting my self into before I even get my hands on it.

I don't plan on returning mine, but I wanted to know my options..

I ordered my phone Friday 3-18 and the phone will be here on Wednesday 3-23. I ordered from Verizon right from my account online.

My question is, do my 14 days start from 3-18 when I ordered, or 3-23 when I will activate? I just want to make sure I wouldn't miss out via a loophole..

I just got my phone today (and LOVING it)! I ordered it on Thursday around 4:30pm and got it this morning before 9am (2 day shipping). I talked to a csr and asked when my 14 days begins and she said the day they ship your phone is when it begins, so my 14 days began on Thursday. She also said I can return my phone to any corporate store (instead of shipping it back since that takes longer and they must receive the phone before your 14 days are up) and get a refund or exchange.

It is simple - before 14 days - $35 restocking fee, and no other charges, no matter if you signed new 2 years contract, or did the upgrade. You can return it for whatever reason you want.............
