Reunion of Droid Incredible mega thread

I went from Dinc to Crapsinate(Best Buy Free Phone Fridays). Froyo made my Fascinate unusable and Verizon replaced it with a free Droid Charge. No upgrade for me until June but I'm enjoying the current parade of phones. :)

Remember when you could leave your computer for 10 minutes and come back to no less than 10 posts??? It's eerily similar most of the time in the Nexus/Prime thread. Brings back such good memories. I still think the original DInc thread was/is/will forever be the best because we had confirmation of release - they just mucked it up. :)

Inc on launch for me, now nexus on launch it just seems to be the phone specs I have been waiting for. I got the Inc knowing it would be a strong phone from the beginning and ics just seems to be the next sweet spot plus after dealing with sense and then rooting and playing with roms I want the stock android experience with easy access to root

D Inc on release day.

Since then I had been watching for the Bionic for what seemed like months. I plan on getting the Galaxy Nexus on release day for several reasons. One of the top reasons being vanilla android.

I may root my D Inc before I get the GN, just to see if it gets any faster.

Heyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy :)

I'm in the Prime or Vigor boat too, though I still love my Incredible as much as the day before actual release day when it arrived! Except for the Low Space error, that can go die in a fire.

I'm upgrading for sure they just turned on 4g in my area! I can't upgrade until december tho. If I had to choose I'd go with HTC Rezound. That's a pretty solid phone. Who knows what comes out in december tho. :p

I can't decide....nexus or rezound...or maybe just keep my incredible.:confused::confused::confused:

I'm really excited about also because 4G just went live in my area on Thursday. Can't wait to grab the GNex and abuse some 4G speeds.

Flat out, my dinc has rocked, so I am not feeling the same push to upgrade like I did. Phone previous to the dinc was a Windows 6.x POC. But will probably move pretty quickly, I live in a 4G area.

Pre-Orderer here, upgrade date is 12/29. Not sure about the financials around the currently offered upgrade discount vs waiting until then.

Still looking at Galaxy Nexus, Rezound and RAZR. Pros and cons to all three. Leaning towards the Nexus. Flasher Addict. ;)

I spent more hours than I'd like to count following the Dinc thread before the launch. I pre-ordered and have loved the phone with the exception of the annoying memory partition error. I mostly lurked but greatly appreciated all the info I got before making the transition from Blackberry to Android. I can't believe it's already been almost 2 years.

I'm definitely ready to move on and the GNex is the first phone that has me just as excited as I was 2 years ago. My only disappointment is the lack of SD card (making assumption), otherwise everything else looks great. I really liked the size of the Dinc since I wear the phone on my hip (insert geek joke here), but the amazing screen more than compensates and should make the adjustment easy enough.

While I've liked some aspects of Sense, I am most excited to use a pure android phone. With all the improvement in ICS it seems like the manufacturers are going to have a hard time creating enough benefits to justify the time delays and bugs involved with their skins. I'm really curious to see how that plays out over time... and thrilled to not have to deal with it.

I won't get my NE2 discount until December so I'll save it and use a family upgrade to pre-order when available. Great to see some familiar names and thanks again for all the info!

"officially" you have to pay full price to upgrade before you date, that said depending on how long you've been a customer and how lucky you are with CSR's, Historically people have been able to get VZW to move the date up. This is the route I plan on taking :) (i'm also 12/29).

Until i hear more about the Vigor I'm with holding my decision. Right now it's a toss up between the GN and VIGOR with the RAZR lagging some...

I used to think that too, but log in to the Verizon Wireless website and look at new phone prices. If you got the DINC on day one like I did, you can purchase a new phone right now for the 2-year price plus a small fee.

I don't have that :( It only gives me the "full" prices :(

I guess I'm not a special enough customer.

I have an Incredible and I am considering this to be my next phone as well. It's either this, or wait for something else.

After all the issues with cellphone batteries I've had in the past, I really want a removable battery, so the Razr is out.

Still have the Inc. since the day before the original release. Still works great. On my second battery. 1900 that fits with original cover with speck case. Still haven't received the gingerbread update which I'm glad I didn't.
I'm already eligible to upgrade now but why do it now when I can wait till the end of December and get the my last new every two deal? I'll be patient. I plan on holding onto this phone as a back up.
Hearing alot in this thread about the Vigor but aren't the best three phones coming out the Razr, Rezound and GNex? Although I love HTC sense and it would be great to stay with it on the Rezound, I'm pretty much sold on GNex. It's a vanilla phone(supposedly no Verizon bloatware!) Should be first in line for updates coming straight from Samsung/Google. I mean this phone is loaded and the screen, well you have a tablet in your pocket. Could be a little big, I would like to hold it before purchase but I think it will rock all around.

The Vigor and Rezound are actually the same phone. Vigor was the first code name everyone knew it by - and a lot of us refuse to use the other name cause it's unliked. :D

Pre-ordered from the Verizon website day 1. Absolutely, have loved the DINC. Flashed tons of ROMs but have stuck with MIUI. Honestly the phone rocks. The only thing a truly need (hardware wise) is a front facing camera. That's not to say I'm not fired up on all the new ice cream sandwich features.
I still remember doing the F5ing for the nexus one page (that sucked) and the incredible forum. Good stuff.
I'm eligible on the 12/29 as well. Reps told me I could upgrade with discounted pricing within a week of that. Otherwise I would have to pay full retail.
I'm 99% sure the Galaxy Nexus is going to be my christmas present.

It is odd that different people get different answers from VZW... I pre-ordered and received my DINC early... when the bionic came out I got it for the full discount (+$20)

It honestly was not THAT much better than my DINC so I took it back. I just called to see if I could get some details from VZW on drop dates and while I was on the phne the guy said that I can get the discount again, no problem. I guess it all depends on who you talk to and which way the wind is blowing...

i'm still trying to decide between the prime and the vigor.

my upgrade date according to verizon's system isn't til 12/29 though...are people figuring out a way to upgrade early?

I called VZW and said I wanted to upgrade early. after some banter about how my contract ends (on the same date incidentally), they said they would extend the courtesy of allowing me to sign a contract early for a new phone, etc...

If you want to upgrade "early" most of it depends on which CSR you hit and factors like how long you've been a customer, how "big" your account is, and how much time is left on your contract.

The CSR is given "some" wiggle room to make the "customer" happy and the CSR manager even more.

Whether you're given some special treatment all depends on the mood of the CSR rep, and your interaction with them. Its like sales, but in this case YOUR selling THEM the idea that your worth doing something special for (or going to bat with their manager for you)...

lol how coincidental that this thread was created.

i remember checking this site daily for months before the incredible came out.

i remember all the craziness with Montana Man and the "6300 box".

good to see everyone back here ready to upgrade to the SGN
