Reverse wireless tethering, an easy way?

Apparently if you configure a wifi capable laptop which is wired to broadband to act as a wifi hotspot, you can connect to the wifi through the HD.
Thing is, it looks a bit complex for an IT numpty like me, is there an app that makes it easier?
