review of DNA

I mostly agree. The non-removable battery is my biggest con. BY the time my upgrade is up the battery will not last like it does now. That's just the nature of rechargeable batteries. It'll be down to 70-80% capacity. That will still likely get me through most days, but being able to pop in a new one in a year or so would be nice. Other than that it's a great phone. The limited memory is a non-issue for me. Though I am now careful to back up all the pics in case the phone burps a smurf. I have Google+ set to upload them automatically whenever I'm plugged in and on wifi.

I've decided to be careful not to overcharge this phone for once. I've always just plugged my phone in at night. That's been fine since I change my phone pretty much every 18 months. This time tho I'm going to try and take care of my phone battery, see if that makes a difference.

phone storage is also not a big deal to me as I also use the google plus backup feature for my photos which is really nice.

I just downloaded an update today that says it's supposed to improve the sim card problem. have you gotten that update yet bud1lite?

I assume, given that the battery is non-removable, if my battery is having extreme issues keeping a charge after a year or so, that my TEC will cover replacement of the battery... Given that we cant remove it, I assume there's some sort of procedure for sending the phone out to have the battery replaced... It would be silly for them to charge me for a new battery, given that, had they made it removable, I could go somewhere and buy a battery myself for cheaper. They'd be assholes to charge me for something like that, simply because we really don't have a choice but to get our battery from them...

Either that or I should be able to pay the insurance fee to get a refurb replacement. I think VZW should just eat the cost and replace the battery, personally, given that they're taking away our ability to do it ourselves... In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't eventually a class action lawsuit alleging phone manufacturers and cell companies are illegally trying to extort money from users by making the battery non-removable and forcing us to pay a hefty fee to replace the phone, or upgrade to a new phone... It really is extortion if you think about it.

um, it's not really extortion. you COULD always not buy it. =]

The DNA battery is fine in my opinion, much better than my last HTC (the incredible) which had a removable battery.

It's easier to extend the life of a battery when you integrate it into the phone. this is one of the reasons iPhone batteries have historically been much better than any android phone battery.

my DNA doesn't have OMG AMAZING battery life, but it's better than the incredible, better than my droid bionic. better than my blackberry storm (which is currently pinned to my archery target by 3 arrows). If the battery was removable, it would have a short battery life.
