Root Revolutionary - pls help

Hello all.

So, I have been relentless in trying to get s-off on my HTC Desire for the last few days and nearly got there today, albeit for the final step !! :(

So, I am using Revolutionary, and all was going well, I entered the Serial # etc, and then received the message .. "Zerging Root....Please wait"... then got the final message ...."Failed to get root !! "

Does anyone know why I got that message and how I can work around it? I am currently running a Custom Rom (Gingerbread 2.3.4) on a HTC Desire HBOOT 0.93.000.1..

I have come across some posts suggesting that the Desire can't be S-off'ed on Gingerbread??

Anyway, I would really appreciate any help.. I am going mental :(..

you might want to do a nandroid backup and flash a sense rom then try again
 
Aye, was also told it only works on Sense ROMS. Thats the only reason i ain't got S-off yet.. im lazy

takes 2mins to do a nandroid. takes 5 seconds to wipe the device. takes 3 mins to flash a sense rom
so that to me looks like 5mins backup and flashing time
about 4 mins to boot
about 2 mins to s-off

so that is 11mins to s-off
4 mins to restore your current rom
15mins in total

You forgot the 4 minutes to translate the instructions from English to Leeds though
