Rezound and "Low Storage Space Warning"

I know I get this warning on my DINC all the time and have to go out and clear some of my data (internet cashe, gmail) to get it to go away. I can't remember if this is an Android thing or an HTC thing, but I wonder if the Rezound will have the same issue... Anyone know if they've increased the data storage capacity so you don't run into this issue?

That was due to poor data file allocation design of the Inc. I think the Inc was a one off in that regard for newer devices.

My HTC Desire had this problem too, 0.14GB phone storage free for apps was not enough!

Newer HTC phones like my Sensation has about 1GB phone storage free for apps and there isn't a problem with not enough storage any more :)

The Rezound has also 1GB phone storage free for apps, so there shouldn't be any problem.

I'm waiting for the European version of the Rezound :)

See the only phone that I can recall that happening on is the original Droid Incredible. I've never heard of it showing up on any other HTC phone.

On a side note, I used to have to keep at least 510 - 515mB of space free to not see the Low Space Warning. The other day I went to uninstall an app and noticed that I was at 460mB free. I wonder if they have fixed this or I just got lucky. Or maybe the warning only shows up in a certain range (like say between 490-510mB) and if you're outside of that range on either side it doesn't show. All I know is I haven't seen it on my Inc1 for a few months now.

Rezound should have 2.2gb free for apps. The issue on the Inc was you go the error if the data/data folder got full. Example, the Inc had 768mb of app space, but many people ran out of space even if 500mb free app space for apps- due to the data/data folder being full. POOR design.

Yes! This is exactly my case. I have 748MB of Phone Memory, of that I have 522MB available, but i still get this "low space" warning. It's my #1 pet peeve of this phone.

I just wanted to make sure this wasn't still going to happen when I upgrade to the Rezound!

The problem with the desire is it actually didnt have enough storage space as opposed to the Incredible that had a data/data partition of only 150mb

Incredible is the only phone this paticular issue plagued. Its all about the data/data partition. Absolutely nothing to do with how much of the 768mb you have used

The Rezound will not be affected by this...

Anyone wondering about the incredible issue check out the giant sticky thread in support section of Incredible forum. It lists fixs (temp ones anyway) and the most common causes (apps that cause it that is) along with better explanations of the problem

I had this issue today, never had it on my thunderbolt. The phone was unusable, kept telling me to clear space, i did and would get the notification again. Had to factory reset to get it to work. Thats not a good sign

Had this issue on the Rezound? Or the DINC?

Yes which phone (its almost definitely the Inc they are talking about)

There are several things you can do for the Inc. On the off-chance you are talking about the Zound... well, i find that very hard to believe.... take the phone back immediately if it happens again.

We will need a root master to confirm for us the size of the data/data partition (or however they do it now) but I can assure you this isn't supposed to be a problem with htc phones any more.... (every phone since the Inc hasn't had this problem any more and that is too many phones to list)
