rezound charge cord?

the rezound seems to have a different charge plug than my inc had. the inc charge cords seem to work with the phone, but the charger that came with it has a larger plug. does anyone who has a rezound and/or is more familiar with these charge plugs let me know what type of charge cord i need to order? there doesn't seem to be anything official available yet, and i really would like a longer cord asap. thanks!

alternately, is it okay that i am using these other charge cords with the slightly larger opening on the rezound? don't want to mess up the battery or the device. thanks!

The charging cable that came with the Rezound should work on it and on the original Incredible. They both have the same charging port (called an EXT-microusb). I plan to call HTC today and ask it the tv-out (analog) cable for the Incredible will also work on the Rezound. Otherwise, if you just need a charging cable, any microusb will work. The charger that came with the Incredible is a standard microusb and works just fine. But don't try and put the one from the Rezound in anything but it and the original Incredible.

Would you mind expanding on your answer please? It was a bit confusing and this was one issue that I have put in the negative column for the Rezound. I don't feel like buying all new charging cables; but if my DINC charging cable will work in the Rezound it's definitely a non-issue.

The Rezound looks like a microUSB but it doesn't look the same as the microUSB on my DINC making me think it's a proprietary cable for that phone.

Your post indicates that the Rezound and the DINC use the same charging port which (to the naked eye) didn't look to me to be the case.

Thanks

They use the same cord, you have to flip the Inc one upside down to fit it is all since the are flipped on the rezound compared to Inc. I'm charging with my Incredible cord right now

HTC went to new connection fitting and cable suppliers, with some experiments in supply along the way.

As my buddy NightAngel79 says, no worries. I have been through several generations of these testing them out. Some snug, some losie goosie, but the new connection ports they're using are top notch.

I like the new cord/plug.It is a little longer and seems to fit mure securely.
Any idea where you can order this new style?

The pictures look like the old style of micro USB. The new USB cable on the Rezound feels much sturdier than that of the Thunderbolt. It actually snaps in place. I hope it means we won't have to worry about bad USB ports on the phone in 5 months. That's actually the first piece of hardware that started to fail on me on my old HTC Touch Pro 2. It's nice to see that HTC is still trying to improve its design.

im having some SEVERE issues with the chargers for my rezzound, the dinc charger or any like it cause my screen to stop working , icons start to launch , programs open , screen flickers . if i use original charger that came with the phone it works fine . H E L P ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

Inc charger works dine in mine... weird....

is that the original charger that came with Inc?

I tried to plug in 2 micro-USB cables on my Rezound and neither of them would go into the phone. The phone seems to have that little rise on the bottom (looking at it sideways, screen up) and that rise prevents just any micro-USB plug from going in. Also the phone has a tab that sticks out that seems incompatible with micro-USB plugs. Is the required cable manufactured only by HTC? If so, the links I provided in post# 8 may be incorrect.

The micro USB works. That little tab actually fits into the miniscule slot in the micro USB plug. It's tight. I generally have to flip the plug over about 3 times to get the correct orientation.

Proper orientation is "little" side of plug towards back of phone.

Hope this helps!

all my charging cables from my Dinc work (wall, car, etc.).

as for the Dinc's TV out cable, sadly, it doesn't work with the Rezound. for video out, the Rezound has the Mobile High-Def Link (MHL) which evidently has a different pin-out than the Dinc's. i was hoping that at least the audio would've worked, but again, no luck.

i don't mind getting the MHL-HDMI cable for the Rez to get A/V output to our HDTV's in the house, but i was really enjoying the A/V output to the RCA-fed Alpine monitor in my car (music, pandora, nav, etc.) but can't find a reliable/dedicated HDMI-RCA cable adapter. for now, i am just using a headphone to stereo cable (red/white RCA's) to at least enjoy audio in my car.
