Help Rezound keeps freezing

Hey guys, running non-rooted ICS with Go Launcher and in the past couple of months my phone has been freezing randomly and I have to remove the battery to turn it off before I can turn it back on. I can turn the screen on and off, but even the reset button combo doesn't work. I've had the thing since Dec 2011 and finally dropped it hard enough to crack the screen 3 months ago. Could the shock of that drop messed up innards? Or should I try running without Golauncher for a bit to see if that's the problem? Any suggestions welcome. I can't make it happen and there doesn't seem to be a pattern of when it happens.

Go Launcher is not the likely cause, although you could remove it and return to Sense for while and see, if you have been running it since Dec 2011, it is probably time for a factory default. Unless you you are up for an early renewal... The HTC One (including the Blue one) are $49.99 with contract renewal at Best Buy this week!

Yeah I agree with the reset. Should probably try that. My upgrade is in December and I might be changing providers. I really want the motoX. HTC One is a close second though. Thanks for the suggestion!

Do you have various third party apps installed? I wonder if maybe one or some of those have been causing the freezing. I'd also go back to sense and see if go launcher was the problem.

As for the phone dropping, I'm unsure if that is the cause, though it could be if it messed with the internal hardware. Since the freezing has been after the drop, perhaps that could be a cause, but I'm unsure.

Again... I think one of the first step in troubleshooting this is to do a Factory Default and test, this will either eliminate or confirm a hardware issue as there are no known issues like you describe on the current firmware.

I, too, have been having freezing problems. I'm running ics, basic everything...didn't root this phone (first one I haven't), stock sense, and did a factory reset a couple weeks ago. Eliminated all unnecessary apps...fewer than I had on my original Eris! Lately, More issues have evolved...my ringtone changes on its own. Everything "stops", gmail, internet, gapps, Android.acore. Whatever that is. I've babied this phone, haven't wanted to upgrade yet because the One is already yesterday's news, don't want to lose unlimited data. Any suggestions welcome.

The changing ringtones could be the result of a randomly mounting and dismounting Sdcard. The dismounting could be a bad SDcard or a bad electrical connection.

Before I changed phones I think I'd try a factory reset. When My Rez started acting weird with little nagging problems I did a refresh. Not only were my problems solved, I noticed a a major improvement of speed/performance. It had slowed down over a long period of time and I hadn't even noticed it was sluggish until I did a factory reset. Was like a new improved phone.

Good luck in whatever you do.
