Rezound screen in direct sunlight?

like any other phone, it will have glare unless you get an antiglare screen protector

all screens are not created equal though ;)

this will look better in direct sunlight then a amoled screen. thats all that can be said till some real review vids go up.... of course the only way to REALLY judge is to look at one in direct sunlight unfortunately

Lets hope it's made differently than the Thunderbolt because I don't even bother looking at my screen in direct sunlight. I'd have better luck eating an ice cream cone sandwich on the sun.

What is the basis for the statement (unless you are excluding super-amoled) ?

I.e, I've looked at the evo3d (lcd), photon (pentile lcd), epic touch (super amoled+) in direct sunlight. The evo3d was invisible (unviewable; useless brick in sunilght); the photon hardly faded (best by far) the epic touch was more than use-able but definitely impacted.

I'm debating between the three new verizon phones (revolution, razr, gn) and am leaning towards the razr (though recent reviews have been a bit lack luster). While I consider the revolution a dark horse will look at it before making a decision; and clearly outdoor usage is one of the things important to me. If it is like the evo3d; forget it. If iti s like the photon - big + :)

LCD screens have been better than any Amoled screen I have owned for outside use. Super Amoled is definitely improved over Amoled but it still is quite difficult for me to see in the sun. The iPhone is pretty good in the sun, the Charge for me was very hard to see.

Would be more informative if you name the phones since i've named at least one (though I could name other) phones with lcd that are not very usable in bright light.

Though in all honestly I only care about the rezound behavior in bright light and past phones are some what irrelevant since this is a new display.

I walked outside in the noon sun (1:00pm) put the sun at my back and read a few emails on the Rezound. Brightness was set to auto. I had no difficulty reading them with black text on white background.

I took a walk to get the sun at different angles and While a black webpage with dark text would be barely visible the standard email, phone, navigation, contacts and calendar were all viewable in direct sunlight.

Sounds like you were golfing when you should've been at work! ;)

Can you qualify this - I don't mean to question you but I just watched the wirefly review of the rezound and he indicated some issues seeing the screen when outside (after the during the vid cam test).
