Rezound upgrade?

I mean, the processors will bench mark at about 80% faster than the Rezound, most likely (judging by One S benchmarks)...but will you notice that in day to day usage?

Depends on how you use it.

Battery life will definitely be an upgrade.

Sense 4 is an upgrade over sense 3.6.

Besides screen size, will this be a significant upgrade from my Rezound if I get it soon so I can keep unlimited data?
The only thing the Rezound has over the Incredible 4G is pixel density, and screen size if you prefer a larger screen. Personally, I would have liked a 4.3" screen on this phone with a higher pixel density, but it's not going to stop me from buying this phone at all. I checked out the Rezound in the VZW store, and personally it was too dim for me. Out of all the flagship phones that came out around the time the Rezound was released, the Rezound was the dimmest. Also the Droid Incredible 4G has a SLCD2 display over the SLCD. Verizon and HTC official have said it is an SLCD display, but I believe that was a generalization and it actually is SLCD2 because of two reasons: 1. An HTC Rep said it was SLCD2 2. It looks on par, imo better, than the SLCD2 screens of the One X and the One V. Check out this video and you can see what I'm talking about: HTC One V, Droid Incredible and One X - YouTube

Not only is the display SLCD2, but it should be much brighter as well. So you have a brighter display with more vibrant colors. This alone would make me buy it over the Rezound, as I can honestly not tell the difference between qHD on a 4" display and HD on a 4.3" display, unless I tried looking real closely.

Besides the screen, this phone is packing an S4 processor, which is a SIGNIFICANT upgrade over the S3 in the Rezound. Don't let the 1.2ghz clock speed fool you, it will blow the S3 in the Rezound away. The benchmarks are almost on par with the One S and the One X on this phone. The S4 also has a better GPU for graphics processing, and manages battery life much more efficiently. Meaning, it should have great battery life, despite having a 1700mAh battery, and no overheating issues. The S4 has integrated LTE as well, so there is no seperate LTE chip draining your battery life away.

Another issue I personally had with the Rezound was the weight and thickness. Let's face it, it's a brick. The Droid Incredible 4G is much lighter and thinner, reviewers have even commented it "practically floats in the hand."

It also has the 3 capacitive design which gives it some better aesthetics, and ICS w/ Sense 4.0 out of the box. The Rezound will not officially be getting Sense 4.0, so keep that in mind. Another thing the Dinc4g has that the Rezound doesn't is Imagesense, even though it is only partially present on this phone. Despite it's only partial presence, the camera should be slightly better on this phone.

Basically your looking at the most well balanced phone that will be available on Verizon. It also has that "Droid" branding, which means Verizon will probably give it more love than the Rezound.

This phone should be coming out well before the shared data plans start, so yes, you will be able to keep your unlimited data.

I call this phone "Every problem I had with the Rezound fixed at the price of a slightly smaller screen."

Wow sounds like a commercial :P Well I love my screen. Comparing it to my old retired OG Droid is like comparing the OG Droid to an old iPod touch before the retina screen. But, I wouldn't mind more battery life without an extended battery or shutting off data.

It sounds like they are making a competitor to the iPhone 5, which is supposed to be similar in size and have LTE. I love my screen size, but I'm willing to try this one out, as soon as I can.

I may go for an SGSIII, but it may not come out in time. There is little I don't like about the Rezound, and if I had gotten it on a recent upgrade, I'd be happy to keep it.

The Galaxy S3 is nice, but keep 2 things in mind: It's pentile, and it has a plastic glossy body. I hate cheap feeling devices, that's why I won't buy any of the new LG phones. Anyways, I just like HTC, and I've always wanted an HTC phone. If those two things don't matter for you, then go for it, but..

A big thing I might mention, The Galaxy S3 is a flagship device, while the Incredible 4G is only being touted as a midrange device. This makes it more likely that the Galaxy S3 will launch AFTER data sharing takes into effect. It's not 100%, but it's more than possible. And the iPhone 5 will 100% launch after the data sharing takes effect.

I should be a telemarketer :p

Well, I watched a video on it, looks pretty good. I think I can live with a smaller screen, and have better performance and battery life. I hear ghosting won't be an issue either.

I just want something that can hold up for either 2 years to go tiered at upgrade, or to save up enough for a full priced phone next time. My Rezound is nice, I really love it, but it's an activated phone from a ghost line. I have an upgrade available anytime, and I would be an idiot to go without a contract while Verizon does their changes, knowing when I want to upgrade, I have to get off the gravy train! Plus, once the next contract is over, the ghost line will be all ready to go buhhh byyyee!

Here's another one - most of us like HTC because of Build quality and Sense. Sense 4.0 looks awesome and a great development community if you don't like Sense or if you just want to get rid of bloatware. While I'm sure I could get used to anything not too thrilled about TouchWiz. I really want a smaller phone (4.0") but the hardware (not necessarily the glossy plastic) is amazing - 1.5 GHz S4 with integrated LTE, 720P (yes it's pentile but moving up from WVGA don't think I will notice), 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage for only $249 plus micro SD (I think the 32 GB is the sweet spot since built in storage is MUCH, MUCH faster than micro SD), nice size battery (2100 Milliamp), lots of nice Samsung extras (will definitely miss Sense). IF the Dinc 4G doesn't come out soon I may be forced to at least try a bigger phone - you get 14 days to send it back.

Like many others, I own an original DINC with the super Amoled screen and it is the second best phone I have ever owned. The best was my Motorola Startac which I dropped in the water and ran over with my car more times than I could count, but it kept working and I still have it. But obviously my DINC is an awesome smartphone and I am trying to upgrade before the ability to keep my unlimited data plan goes away. I really want the DINC 4G in the worst way, but it may not be possible. I have been looking at what others have typed about the Rezound and SGIII and wonder. I don't really want the big screen, so I think the Rezound is where I am leaning. I read here that the Rezound has a pentile screen but other sites say this is not the case; I am a bit confused. Also, I found a website that compared the DINC 4G to the Rezound and it indicated the 4G cannot be used as a mobile hot spot. I use my DINC this way so wonder if others know about this. HTC Rezound vs HTC DROID Incredible 4G LTE in Smartphones. I am not really concerned about the processor as I am really happy with the speed of what I have now. The only other issue is the battery; I would buy an extended but also wonder about the rear cover doubling as the antenna. Appreciate any comments to help me decide.

Since the Dinc 4G isn't out yet, that comparison is virtually useless. However if you are concerned with battery, the Dinc 4G has the new S4 Snapdragon with integrated LTE which promises better battery life on 4G.
