Rezound vs Razr Max

My thoughts are that there is now one less thing on my personal list of cons for the Razr. The outcome is still unchanged. Now if they also changed the screen out with a true HD SAMOLED PLUS screen with no ghosting or black blotching then it would be a harder choice. Still the shape and size of the phone/tablet is very unappealing to me so in the end I don't think it would change anything for me except I might feel comfortable at least recommending the phone to others who don't mind the size. I am just one of those people that honestly believes there is a size window for phones and once you go past that it becomes a negative instead of a positive.

Maybe thinner, but the RazR screen bites the big one compared to rezound and sorry but the HTC software is much slicker too.

Yep, no way I can hang w/the qHD screen on the Razr. To my eyes it just looks bad. It's a shame Moto didn't equip the Maxx w/the 720p screen we've seen on the 'Razor like' phones seen in Asia. Massive blow it in my view.

I'm still having a problem deciding on what phone to buy. I love the Droid Incredible. I use it for simple functions...web browsing, calendar, email, calculator, flashlight, a few other apps...I'm at the point where I just want to keep it. I recently got the extended battery so it's kind of like a breath of new life. From a marketing and appearance standpoint, the Razr Maxx would be the #1 choice. But if you want something of quality, I would say the Rezound with the extended battery is better. I'm just worried that if I get the Rezound now, I'm wasting my upgrade because a new HTC phone will be out before the Rezound is even shipped.

I would stack my Rezound with Extended battery up against a RazR Max any day of the week.

But that's just it!! All other phones out there require an extended battery to compete with the Maxx's STOCK battery! (Oh, and the Maxx is still thinner - even without your extended battery in place!)

To each his own. And if you love your phone, that's all that matters! I have nothing but good things to say about HTC - and if they had stepped up their game in the stock battery department, there's little doubt that I'd be rocking an HTC phone right now instead of my Maxx!

I agree with you about the shape of the Razr. I lost my droid x the other day and needed a replacement right away. I was set on getting the razr when I walked into Verizon but after seeing them in person, feeling in my hand, the razr was disproportionate, exceeding that size for phones you're talking about. It felt too big in my hand and awkward, too hard and edgy.

The rezound on the other hand, just felt like it was fitting perfectly in my hand. The soft back also helps to make the phone feel more comfrtable to hold. I think it's the same size as the droid x as well.

Lastly, having had a droid x, i'm tired of the unapealing motoblur interface. I've had a HTC touch pro and loved the sense ui and found I still love it. The rezound also felt like it loaded up faster whereas the razr seemed to lag slightly behind.

the beats earbuds are a plus, although i probably won't use them that much.

After having to root my droid x because of gingerbread breaking my phone, I shy away from motorola for the time being...

The biggest turn off with the razr phones is the inability to swap out batteries bar none. I got the rezound with two extended batteries and a desktop charger (Stand alone battery charger). I listen to all kinds of internet radio and use my phone for everything under the sun, plus it's my music player. The idea of having my phone tethered to a charger irks me, I never know when I'll need it. So that's the purpose of two extended batteries. To use the phone to it's maximum potential! It was designed to be a hot rod! lol

I figure, why buy a corvette if you're not going to drive it over 55 mph just to save on gas? Floor it baby! Turn up that screen brightness! Always use 4g! Do what ever you like and never be in fear of losing battery power! :D

Totally agree there! I was using a little extra battery thing I got at Verizon, and it was ok, but I saw the extended battery was half price, so I got one, complete with a new cover to go over the larger back plate. Sure, they only had black, but now I am not worrying about the battery, and I don't mind the bulk, though some might.

I didn't get the Razr or Razr Maxx because I want to swap batteries also, and I am not a blur fan, as well as the worries about the black screen of death on some Motorola devices.

The Rezound was cheaper than the Nexus, and it's just more my type. Size, shape, design, and sense polishes it off. Not in a hurry to root unless I don't like ICS on it once we all get that update, though it's unlikely it will disappoint. I hear there aren't many stable ICS Roms for the Rezound yet anyways.

After much contemplation, I bought the Rezound yesterday. Although with the ext battery its twice as thick as the razr maxx, for the price and specs you can't go wrong. I had a little trouble with the software update-seems like u need more than half a battery charge for it to update properly. The phone was getting stuck in 1x, but that seems to have gone away. Overall I'm happy with the phone.

Since battery size wasn't something I considered between the two, you can read my take from here http://androidforums.com/htc-rezound/445816-htc-rezound-vs-motorola-droid-razr.html The Razr's thin dimension was one of its selling points to me. I'm not sure what the thinking was in increasing the size in order to get in a few more hours of use. It's like having a sleek stealth bomber and turning it into a jumbo jet to get more fuel range. What's next, the Nexus Maxx that comes with Gingerbread installed so you have MAXX access to apps that don't work on ICS?

i will not touch the razr line due to them holding back on each model to release another around the corner like, uhhhh, say.... Apple. Although apple waits a year due to its following.

Next, the color line.....

I like how HTC pushes the boundaries on each phone.

Having the bigger battery is just awesome. I have a comfortably thin phone that is lighter than the rezound, but truly goes 14 hours of moderate to heavy use and I still have 50-60% battery left.

I guess the extra battery power comes in handy when you're playing 720p content or shooting 1080p content right?

So you're saying it doesn't come in handy when playing 720p content or getting the hot flight attendant to let you shoot her in 1080p glory? Hmmm, why is that?

Sorry if my earlier post sounded ignorant. Late night/early rise. I just see them whoring out the razr name and thickness to squeeze every penny they can.

I like HTC and sense. I don't like moto n blur. Can't argue opinions/personal preference!

I'm not attached to a wall outlet ever. I battery swap. Not really an issue. Ever.

Ok...what a road I've had with this phone purchase! I originally got the Rezound from Costco on a black Friday deal for 49.99. Had it for a couple of months. Had one bout with a boot-loop problem, which was remedied by a Factory reset, etc. Pretty soon after that I ran into the "Stuck in 1X" problem. At that point the Razr Maxx came out. I was using the extended battery on my Rezound, and getting a solid 13+ hours out of it. However, I had to give the Razr Maxx a try, so I upgraded my other line. Just got it yesterday, and I have to say that I'm not too happy about anything other than the battery life. My biggest issue is the black spots on the screen in various places. Only visible in a dark room with a dark background, but I have since learned that it is a very widespread problem with the Razr line! I guess Motorola claims that it is "just the way it is" with the SAMOLED screens! C'mon...my Incredible never had any of that! My other issue is with the Razr is the camera. It is nowhere near the quality of the Rezound's camera! Anyway...I think the Razr is gonna have to go back. I just can't legitimately give a company my business that knowingly puts screens in their phones that have issues! My Rezound screen is absolutely FLAWLESS! Maybe not a "punchy" on the colors as the Razr, but perfect for my needs. Anyway...can anyone tell me if the recent update to the Rezound improved anything? In particular, the issues that I outlined above. Thanks!

You mean you'd rather be tied to a wall charger?

As far as the hiccups with the Rezound, I can't say I've had any especially when compared to my old Thunderbolt. The Rezound is what the Thunderbolt should have been.

If you love the inc its a no brainer you will LOVE the rezound. They should have just called it the incredible 3. The next htc phone coming out has almost identical specs as the rezound and probably wont be out for a couple months, the rezound is without a doubt the phone to get for anyone who had and loved their dinc.

I agree.

The razr maxx is nice, definitely would have made my choice harder but still the width is just a tad too much for my hands.
