Rezound Wallpaper

Any idea what dimensions I need to re-size wallpaper to fit on the Rezound's 7 screens??

I currently have a Droid Inc and the wallpaper is 960x800.

Thanks in advance!

I'm just wondering if the way to figure it is:

Incredible's screen resolution: 800 (vertical) x 480 (horizontal)
Incredible's wallpaper size is 800 (vert.) x 960 (horiz.)

Notice the horizontal of the wallpaper is double the horizontal of the screen resolution?

So maybe to figure the wallpaper size from the resolution of the screen, you take the vertical measurement (1280) by two times the horizontal measurement (720) for a wallpaper size of 1280 high x 1440 wide, or just plain 1280 x 1440.

Does that sound right or am I seeing things that aren't there?

That's assuiming the Rezound has the same number of home screens as the Incredible, which it should.

I was thinking the same thing when I saw the numbers.

Can anyone confirm this? Maybe someone that went from DInc to the Rezound could try their DInc wallpaper.

Thanks

The rezound has the ability to add and remove panels for a max of 7 panels. The backgrounds are fixed and the flip is a 3D rotation of the panels. Even the live wallpapers are fixed.

Placing a 960 x 800 background results in a croped fixed image :(

Do you have anything that you could resize to 1280 pixels high by 1440 pixels wide? I didn't think that 960x800 would work since I used wallpapers from my Inc1 on my Inc2 and while they worked, they were a little fuzzy (which makes sense if you take the same image and put it on a device with a larger area, even though it's the same resolution).

EDIT: I may be totally off in this post, see the one below.

I was talking with blkbeltkid17 on the rumor thread, and he was saying that he didn't think they were doing horizontal scrolling anymore (at least not in the way they used to). Here's my response to what he said. See if this makes sense.

"So if I understand you right, we no longer scroll horizontally over the wallpaper image, but instead move the icons & widgets over a static image in the background when we scroll? An example would be if you had a picture on a table, and put a sheet of clear plastic with icons on it and slid it from side to side but left the picture underneath in the same position.

That does make sense how they are able to do the carousel thing and also how wrap around scrolling works. Otherwise (with wrap around scrolling) you'd see the wallpaper image snap back from one edge to the other. In that case, the wallpaper should just be 1280 high x 720 wide, right?"

So I guess what I'm (& maybe blkbeltkid17) are thinking is that the wallpaper is on the deepest level and not movable, and the icons & widgets are on a movable transparent level above the wallpaper. So now when scrolling the wallpaper image will not move, only the icons & widgets. If anyone who has a Rezound currently, could you try loading up a wallpaper with a resolution of 1280x720 on your phone and see if that works? If so that maybe the key.

"Ms. Vito, does the defense's case hold water?" - line from My Cousin Vinny, but appropriate here I think.:D

I think I followed all that, but I still don't fully get it. I could be wrong, but I think there's still horizontal scrolling that affects the image as well. I'd have to think the background image needs to be bigger than the home screen to allow it to fit on the additional screens.

Guess we won't know till someone tries as 1440x720 image.

If they were to do the wrap around scrolling but using the wallpaper covering all of the homescreens like they have done on previous versions of Sense, if you kept scrolling left, you'd get to the left edge of the image, then all of the sudden you'd be at the right edge of the image. By keeping the image non movable and sliding the icons and widgets on a transparent layer over top of the non movable image, it looks much more polished.

So basically every version of Sense before 3.0 was one layer with icons & widgets on that same layer. With Sense 3.0 and newer, there are 2 layers, a non movable image (wallpaper) layer on the bottom, and a movable transarent layer with the icons & widgets on it on top. The wallpaper stays fixed and everything else moves.

The easiest way to find out if this is true, would be if someone who has the Rezound can scroll and see if the image in the background move at all. Don't look at the icons, only the wallpaper image and see if it moves at all when you scroll. If it doesn't, the wallpaper size is 1280x720. If it does move, then it's something else.

That explanation makes total sense (LOL), and I would love someone to try this for us!

Thats depressing :(

That makes perfect sense. Not sure I like the idea very much though....

I didn't realize this about the newer sense phones. I know it sounds silly but this is almost a dealbreaker for me. I love my scrolling wallpapers....it's part of Android's charm. Is there nothing in the sense settings to disable the 3D and 360 degree scrolling, thus enabling scrolling wallpapers?

Try downloading a free app............. Multipicture Live Wallpaper

It allows a different wallpaper on each of the 7 screens and allows cropping to different levels. I am using a 4.3 inch screen and it works mint. Not 100% sure with the Resound's resolution though.

Can anyone with the phone confirm if Wallpaper Wizardrii will allow for scrolling wallpapers on Sense 3.5?

I'd also be curious to know if running another Launcher like Launcher Pro is feasible. I know other launchers will work on Sense, but I've read comments about older sense phones that suggest that it hurt performance because Sense Launcher/Rosie is still running in addition to the new Launcher. Anyone wanna give it a go and comment on how a 3rd party launcher performs on the Rezound?

Lol sorry I dont have any to contribute yet. I was looking at the post your screens and saw some cool wallpapers.

Anyone want to post their raw hd wallpapers? Would be nice to be able to click and save and set from mobile browser.
