Help Ringdroid Malfunction?

Hey up peeps.
Been using Ringdroid app since i first got my Desire HD and had no probs with it, but i've recently just added an mp3 to my phone and have cut the part i want for a ringtone using Ringdroid and saved it etc and after a few hours, my phone will ring and it will be a HD tone that was pre-loaded. Then when i go back into Ringdroid, my ringtone that i've saved is no longer there. So i repeat the above and a few hours later, the tone has disappeared again.
Is anyone else having this issue or is it me? Do u know any other apps that does what Ringdroid does?
Ta x

you know what? thats happened to me twice over the past 4-5 months, and yes its very odd, think its when i attempt to mess with the sound profile it suddenly reverts to some default lark

or

I've got a feeling its an app that has links to your notifications, and where you can change its notification tones? (have to test this out and of course might not be at all lol) ive got whatsapp and i think when i try and change the notification sounds to make it unique, after a while it reselts my ringtone to some default sound.

i dunno, anyone encountered this too?

You've got the right idea, eddiewawa. It's a common complaint that ringtone apps/widgets sometimes don't always play nice with the OS default sound/ringtone apparatus.

Unfortunately, the only thing that can wash all that out, and it takes time, is to either play around with the folders, using your file manager, or experiment with different apps (or do as I did and toss ringtone apps).

Also, ringtone apps usually create their own folders. If that folder is the same name as a stock folder, such as "media" or whatever, then problems/conflicts can arise.

Iv removed it. It seems we can make our own tones via 'music' on phone. no probs with this so far :-)

ah, but not the crucial snippets of the 20-30second clip you REALLY want from your recently favourt Crunk track? :p

actually have any of you guys who use ringdroid have one instance saved under ./sdcard/media/audio/ringtones, but when it comes to selecting the ringtone from the selector, it shows 2 instances?

oh yeah you can...my bad my bad, is that new in 2.x or something? never had that on the Hero before lol

i just created a new ringtone from the stock, and now i know why i prefer ringdroid.

the stock trimmer only lets your trim per sec, whilst ringdroid allows you to trim at smaller points, meaning! when i want to trim e.g. a chorus, i hate to start the ringtone with some random bit of the verse or random key change.

but meh, again everyone to their own, i now realise i like the precision hehe
