Help Ringtone failure

Ringtones is my Samsung Epic 4G have quit working unexpectedly. When I call my phone, I get the sound "Call from home" spelled out by a female voice instead. When someone else calls, I get "Call from Fred", etc.

Changed the default ringtone to a custom mp3 file with ringdroid, still the same result. If I change the ringtone for the specific contact to that mp3 file I still get the same result. But no ringtones.

Any ideas?

there is an option somewhere for speaking out the callerID - also an app for that I believe as well - if you have Vlingo installed you might have it turned on to do that

Don't mean to hijack this thread... but I have the opposite problem. Could anyone detail how to get my incoming ring-tone BACK to that speaking voice that tells you the name of who is calling? Can't find it anywhere on "settings" or "preferences". Thanks

Settings->Text-to-Speech->Speak Incoming CallerID

Hi, and thanks. But My settings show "Settings->Voice input and Output->Text-to-speech settings-> (but there is NO "Speaking Incoming Caller ID as any of the options there). So am I looking in the wrong area? Because I have no "Text-to-Speech" option directly from "Settings".

Settings->Text-to-Speech->Speak Incoming CallerID

It is my understanding that the text-to-speech settings under the Settings menu were removed with EC05.

There may be apps that use caller id TTS that you can use and toggle "always use my settings" (using default settings over application settings) under "Text to speech settings."
