Individual ringtones for each type of use tends to vary by phone, but in general, all Android supports ringtones for calls, notifications and alarms.

Other apps for messaging or emailing may extend options on how you're alerted for things. I'll stop there and let the helpful gang here pitch in, as they will certainly know things about the Optimus S that I do not.

After you have your ring tones downloaded: For Gmail go into the main settings for the phone, sounds, notification ringtone to pick your notification for gmail. For texts go into the messaging app itself and hit menu button, settings, scroll down to notification settings, select ringtone and select your ringtone. For Calendar and voicemail you would follow the same way you set up texts by going into those apps and within the settings select your ringtone. Hope this helps.
