Help ringtone issues?

Just got the Stratosphere and love it so far. I am having one minor issue however in that it cuts off the first few notes of my ringtones (phonecalls only, not notifications). Actually it plays those notes super quetly, then the rest kicks in. An annoyance on a phone I otherwise like. Anyone else having the same issue? I had cropped a few songs to start when i wanted it.

Thanks

I just plug the phone into the computer and drag whatever songs or sounds I want to use into the ringtones and notification folders if they aren't there just make them on the root directory.

I just got the stratosphere and I am adding my personal music to my phone. How do I set these songs as my text/ring tone?

I don't think it gives enough time for that, just enough to make my "feed my Frankenstein"by Alice Cooper ring tone a little less dramatic. Switched songs and it's not as bad but still a bit frustrating.

I kinda like the volume thing. It allows me to kill the ringer or answer before it blasts the world.

Open the track in a sound editor, add a second or 2 of silence, save, re-set as ringtone.

this isnt working for me, tried ringtones, ringtone, notifications, notification, they dont show up in the settings menu when i go looking for them, they are all .mp3 files, anything else i need to make it work?

I see where someone says to save the ringtone as a wav file rather than mp3.

Where and how does one get the ringtone into the phone? When I connect the phone to my computer I don't see where the regular ringtones are located. I did copy over an mp3 but it's not showing up as a ringtone choice.

** Found the answer, will add a thread to explain the process.
