Help Ringtone, notification and syatem volume not linked together?

I noticed that when i turn downt the volume with the rocker button on the side it says ringtone and only lowers the ringer volume. The system and notification volume stays loud. Is there and way to control them all at once?

I'd also like to know if there is a way to control both at the same time. I hate it when i'm at work and i turn the ringer volume very low, but when i get a text message it comes in really loud. Any way to control both at once? Any good apps that would do this?

Timearific will take care of this I have quite a few profiles setup so I never have to change my volume manually

I think the volume control is ridiculous. Why wouldn't you be able to change them all at once? Also, on my Samsung Epic 4G you can't adjust the call volume when you have the phone up to your head. You have to completely pull it away and miss part of the call to change it. Smart phone????
