So im trying to assign a mp3 as a ringtone and now set as ringtone is no longer available. Im using purity rom and the leaked update. I tried to put it in the ringtone, file and i got an error. I made my own file and no luck. Help.

Where exactly are you trying to set the ringtone from? I use Winamp and Music to set my default ringtone. Is the MP3 playable? If not it may not accept it as it can't read the mp3. I am on Purity 2.5 with 7.7.893 OTA.

Are you trying to set it as a default ringtone or for a contact? Seems like you can't do it from Music anyone. I can do it from Winamp. You might need to use a 3rd party program to set your ringtone to whatever you want. I used to use Ringdroid on my OG Droid but haven't really used any since then.

You need to have the MP3 in ...

/media/ringtones

.... on your internal memory in order for the App to find it and offer it to you for setting.

I had to create the folder on my Bionic.

Interesting. Never knew that. Always used the older Music app or Winamp to set my default ringtone.
