Root Ringtones in MildWild 4

keyd

Newbie
Not sure if this is really the right place to ask so apologies if its not. I installed MildWild 4.0 Oxygen based ROM on my desire and want to add an MP3 as ringtone but doing the same as I did before doesnt work. How do I do it? Also theres a tone already on the phone that I want as notification but cant see how to use it as its currently in ringtones?

To add additional ringtones etc, you just need a folder on /sdcard

anything in /sdcard/ringtones will be available as a ringtone. Anything in /sdcard/notifications will be available as a notification. if you have a ringtone you want as a notification, copy it to /sdcard/notifications

Try copying to /sdcard/Notifications (or Ringtones, as appropriate).

If you are S-Off you can copy stuff into the system folders too, but that is overwritten when you update the ROM so less useful.

Some apps (such as Handcent, Go SMS or ES File Explorer) can be used to select any sound file as a ring tone - if I just set ring tone through the system menu it asks if I want to use Go or ES instead of Android System (I've never set one as default, so am asked each time). That way I can browse any file rather than just those in certain folders.

Thanks guys, that worked perfectly. I'm guessing the notification tone I'm after is in a system area or something because I can't see it anywhere to copy over - not even in the mildwild zip file
