Ringtones question...

Im curious if anyone was able to get the LENGTH of an SMS tone to go to what they want? I have some 30-40 second cropped ringtones that i would like for them to play the whole tune, i find myself missing texts/notifications for almost 30-40 mins, and yesterday's was kinda important, so i missed out on it. Anyone come across a fix/app to change this?
 
i used ringdroid to make my tone and it goes for the entire song for each msg so if you haven't tried that then give it a go
