Help Ringtones with Droid 3

Props

Lurker
Hi,
Just upgraded from Palm Centro where I made ringtones from .wma sof mp3s using movie maker. Now, I would like to use the .wma as ringtones on my Droid 3, but I'm challenged. Once someone tells me how to do it, I'll probably be able to do it but until then, I'm stuck with the standard Droid ringtones (yuck!)

Thanks,
Props

Here's what worked for me to make ringtones on the Droid 3: convert audio files to non-drm mp3 files, edit in Audacity software on PC as needed, transfer to SD card of phone, then get software called ringdroid in the Android Market and use it to pick the files and set them as ringtones. There are options in the ringdroid software to set notification tones and such as well.

The my tiny phone website works for me. You have to create a account them just email or text the link of the song and follow the instructions. *note that im talking about sending them from pc to phone and not making them with my D3.

There are some good ringtone maker apps in the market. I personally like RINGDROID because it's easy to use.

Download some and play around till you find the one you like.

I use an app called "MP3 Ringtone Maker." You can search for whatever song you're interested in (and it normally has it), download the whole song, then edit the part that you want to be your ringtone. All for free! Enjoy!
