Help Ringtones

What ringtones is everyone using for their phone?
I used to use the oldschool bell phone, but it now seems that everyone has that and I was forever going for my phone when it was someone else's phone ringing!
At the moment i like to use the facebook pop for email, set so it only pops for the first email, then the onboard tones for both message & ring. I'm looking for something attention grabbing for the ring and loud but short for the txt tones. But not songs really as i hate it when people have the current *in* song as their ringtone.

We cannot add our own message tones but rooting can fix that I think.
I'm currently using Metal Gear's codec for ringtone and 'Moonbeam' for messages.

Are you sure about that?
Can you not just make the \audio\notifications\ directory on your sd card to make mp3's seen by the os? Or a \music\ folder on sd root.

I had to do that with 2.2 froyo, on spica, maybe one of you gs2 guys should check it out.

I used ringdroid on my girlfriends desire to add the catchphrase buzzer as her message tone and that didnt need rooting.

so you can add tone to anything (ring/personal number etc...)?

i think it was the HTC WIN7 mozart(?) phone i saw where you couldnt add even your own ringtone. didnt know what a MP3 was...extreeeeeeeemely gay. amazed.

Hi if u go in to your folders then media/audio/notifications u can put any sounds u want to use for messages etc in there.

Thks to brudder Xplosiv & jo157 for the enlightenment,

After i'd created the said folder with my favourite sms tone, i'm able to see it and select it in my Notification ringtone.

But the problem with my Galaxy S2 is that, since day one after my purchase, i'd selected "Good news" as my notification ringtone and it'd stuck with it no matter what other selection i've made. Problem still exist even after i'd power OFF/ON the handset.

I didn't encountered this problem with my previous OMNIA 2.
Care to enlighten me further...any help would be greatly appreciate...thks :)

Not just notifications, but all of these folders and put your files you can add several.

\sdcard\media\audio\notifications
\sdcard\media\audio\ringtones
\sdcard\media\audio\alarms

I gave Hawaii Five 0 as my ring tone (2010 version), and a snippet from Austin Powers for my notification (SMS) - Yeah Baby!
