Help Ringtones

I have Android 5.1.1 and my personel ringtones doesnt work. Does anybody have an idea of what is wrong?

An unsupported file format would be my first guess. What type of file is it, .mp3, .wav, ,ogg etc?

An .mp3 should work fine.

When you say "doesn't work", does that mean it won't work as a ringtone or that it can't be played at all e.g. by a music app?

I had a problem with some .oog files I moved to my ringtones folder wouldn't play. They would show up in the menus but would not play until I changed the permissions on them to match the other files.

My standard ringtone is an mp3, but I use other mp3:s for different personel contacts, and when they call, only my standard ringtone will work

I moved all my ringtones from my sd card to the telephones memory and after that my assigned ringtones worked

You will have everything to result the ringtone(s) to get them to work again.
When you move them from your phone to SD card or SD card to phone it will reset to the default ringtones.

Yes I had to reasign all my contacts
