Help Ripple effect on screen

Hi, I've had this phone since last April with no problems. Last night I noticed a ripple effect on the screen in the middle and just above the middle on the right, both place where I use the phone most. It more noticeable on a light background and is not effecting the phones use. Is anyone else having a problem like this, also now wondering if a screen protector would help. Cheers.

I get an animated ripple effect when I try to use the camera in bright or strong light. The problem is non existent in low light.
the problem is not confined to the view and is carried over to the image / file.
