RMA question

A few days ago my Hero's screen became unresponsive on the lower right hand side, it was a tad annoying as i couldn't text properly ( letters MN and <- wouldn't respond ) and even by turning the phone around, the same issue happened in the top right of the screen.

I rang 3 today and they agreed to get the phone to them for a check up and to find the fault as the phone is still under the manufacturers warranty.

All this is fine, but a month or so ago i redid the phone to accept the 2.1 software before the official 3 update.

Will this negate any claim on the manufacturers warranty for the handset? If so is there a way to reverse the action?

Install the official 3UK firmware from this page, which will make your phone 100% stock again. (This will put your phone back to 1.5, but 3 have released 2.1 now ).

You may need to make a goldcard like you did last time, I'm not sure. But then your sdcard would still be a goldcard if you haven't formatted it since you unbranded it.

Thanks for the reply Xyro, i'll sort that out before i send it back, and as for the SD card, it's unchanged ( no format since unbranding )
