Roaming

This is more of a Metro question than a phone-specific one (assuming you're on Metro, which you probably are if you have a Motion).
Roaming with Metro will cost you money, so if that's not acceptable you should leave the data roaming box unchecked and the system on Metro Only. Also you have to put funds in your Metroconnect account in advance of roaming on another network.

It does not cost money to roam in most places when you have metro. In the Metro Extended Home areas it roams on Sprint with free unlimited talk text and most times you have data, now you can also get 3G. If you roam in a market that has metro coverage or if you roam where Sprint has no coverage you roam on TravelTalk where its free unlimited texting then 19c. a min. They take money from your MetroConnect account so if you haven't added money to your MetroConnect account you cant initiate calls on TravelTalk.
