Roboform Syncing SD Card permissions?

wunay

Android Enthusiast
I am trying to sync Roboform on my PC with my S4. It has always functioned OK until today when I receive the message.
"Permission error, confirm that the SD card is connected with read and write permissions enabled".
I can read and write to the SD card and cannot find where to access Read and Write permissions.

Any thoughts out there?

I will answer my own question:- It is all to do with the recent update to KitKat. Which makes me pose the question - Is there any safe app that will hold passwords and sync from phone to PC?

I use the Roboform Everywhere annual subscription so that it syncs across all my devices. It might be something worth looking into if you don't mind the annual fee. However, you'll be able to use any device or PC to sync to the cloud, if that doesn't bother you. I like it because I have access to my passwords wherever I am.

There may be cheaper alternatives out there, though.

I also use the Roboform Everywhere and it has always synced across my phone, tablet and PC without a problem for the past two years. The trouble came about with the update to Kitkat. I have now uninstalled Roboform and re-installed, but made sure that it installed to internal memory and everything now syncs as it should and I can also edit entries in Roboform

Ahh, ok... Yes, I've always had it save to internal memory rather then on the SD card so I didn't see that error. Interesting but yes the way KitKat handles SD cards, I can see why that error comes up however since I believe Roboform can still store data on its own dedicated folder on the SD drive, I wonder why they haven't updated the app to handle it this way. Good to know the heads up there. Thanks.

I use two programs to maintain my password. Roboform and b-folders. Been using both for years now. Why two? Because it gives me redundancy, and b-folders search function is better. It searches across notes, custom fields etc. So I use roboform to fill in the forms, and b-folders for everything else.
