Roll back to 4.3

Hi. Did ota update to 4.4 on Sprint S4. Big mistake. Two biggest problems for me is Docs to Go & Sygic nav. No access to sd card.

Can i go back to 4.3. I am not rooted. At the moment..

You can't roll back to 4.3 i am afraid.
Rooting your phone is a possibility to enable an earlier rom, but because of knox & the locked bootloader it makes things more difficult.
Hopefully someone with a bit of experience rooting a samsung phone can clarify things for you, as i have only had first hand experienece with the HTC desire.

You cannot go back. Even with a custom ROM. The bootloader installed when you updated stops you doing that. Since the bootloader from 4.4.2 is incompatible with 4.3 there will be no custom ROMs that will have the new bootloader with the old firmware.

There is a fix available for the sd card that some have had success with, but it does look very complex to use as you would have to use method 2.

You would also have to root your phone too

Excellent find anonimouse (like the name BTW). Such a solution if it works is not that difficult. Basically use root Explorer from the Play Store. The difficult bit that takes some practice to get right is altering read right permissions.

handy if you aren't rooted & get caught out by the ota, sticking on 4.3 until something permanent gets sorted out myself
