I updated my Nexus S phone to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and it broke some apps that I absolutely need for my job. I would like to roll back off Ice Cream Sandwich. I have downloaded prior OTAs such as 2.3.3 but the system will not install them. It errors out when I try to install from "udpate from /sdcard" select the file I downloaded and renamed to update.zip. I get Finding Update, Opening Update, Verifying update, Installing Update and then I get assert failed: file_getprop("/system/build.prop" ..... Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip (status 7) Installation aborted.
