Hello guys (and gals?).
First off I apologize if this has been answered somewhere already. I had a quick look and could not find exact issue or an answer.
I am trying to flash the ROM onto my Behold 2 (yeah still using it). However I have some troubles with ODIN.
As far as I understood flashing process would go something like:
1. Install the Samsung Drivers onto the PC (
http://www.junefabrics.com/bin2/SamsungUsbBehold.zip)
2. Load the ODIN
3. Under Select OPS choose the Behold2.ops file
4. Click on the PDA button and choose the final.tar.md5
5. Turn off the phone
6. Press and hold Volume down, Call and Power buttons
7. Plug the phone to the USB port and wait for windows to detect the device
8. Click Start in ODIN and wait until flashing is done
Sounds simple enough but in my case when the phone is powered on ODIN can see the device (by powered on I mean booted up not in the recovery/download mode). As soon as I turn the phone off and do the recovery mode, once the little triangle with ! mark is shown the windows and ODIN no longer see the android device (With Samsung Modem, ADB and all the other stuff) and only detects "USB Mass Storage". ODIN does not see the phone in this mode so clicking on the start button comes up with the "Please connect phones!!" message.
Am I doing something wrong? Am I missing an important step, maybe in configuring the phone or something?
Additional information:
OS: Windows XP Professional
Device: Behold 2 running the Samsung's Android 1.6 release
Again, I apologize if I missed the answer in the search, I have noticed a few people that had similar issues (device not showing up in ODIN) however they usually forgot to install drivers, which I have installed. I have used the Android SDK (adb.exe to be exact) to install AppManager onto the phone while making sure that drivers needed are working. But as I've noted, as soon as phone is put into the download mode (Volume down + Call + Power) it is no longer detected by ODIN (with an exception of only Windows detecting an USB Mass Storage), once the phone is powered up and booted to the home screen it is detected just fine in both Windows and ODIN.
SOLVED: Ok, my assumption was that by OK (in the instructions) it was meant the Green SEND button. Of course holding Vol down send + power puts mode into recovery mode not download mode. The correct way to do this is hold Volume Down, the round button in the center of he D-pad and power. DUH!
