[ROM] 1.6 w/root, barnacle wifi tether and take5 Final | Behold 2

I've been running your ROM for a while and I just need to clean it out and do it over again. The problem is it saves all my settings and apps and things even after a reflash. Is there any way I could go back to ground zero and go to stock 1.6 and then to your ROM? (yes I have tried just flashing to vanilla 1.6 and then doing your rom, but it still keeps all my settings).

Boot to recovery mode and hit the menu key.
 
I installed this yesterday, and I like it a lot but I'm having some issues:
I'm getting a lot of FC's, and I did try to clear the dalvik cache, but it said it couldn't find it?
Anything else I can do?
I'm pretty new at this, but catching on!
 
Sorry, I just saw you posted here! I came from BH Mans 1.6 Stock No Twiz. Should I go to stock 1.6 then to yours?
I may try that.....
 
I tried to empty my Delvik-cache in adb.
I followed the instructions, twice. But it kept saying "not found".
I found something BH Man said about it, and long story short, I apparently wiped all my data of my SD card and whatever else....
I have lost all my settings (no big deal there) but I also lost several apps, INCLUDING the "market" app. so I can't get anything back! There must be a way to get that back, right?
 
First of all, I want to say that Bearsfan85 is all kinds of awesome for doing this for us. You're the man :)

I have had a couple of problems with the last build 1.6 with root. But am a total newb at modifying my phone. I couldn't even get the root done properly, but I understand that wasn't necessary for this rom(celebrates) There are a few apps that require root and give me an error saying I don't have root. Not a huge issue since I didn't really need any of them.

My main issue is that I keep trying to connect to the wifi at work and I have a key that I know works on laptops, but it only connected once and that might have been the 3g rather than the wifi. We have 128 bit wep encryption on the network here and I've entered the 26 digit key a dozen times and I delete the connection each time before I try to enter the key again, but when I go to use it, I've even copy and pasted it from the browser a couple of times and it will say it's connected , I get errors saying the connection failed. :( Any ideas?

The Edge/3G works fine and it's worked fine on my home network which only has 64 bit encryption. I suppose I can talk to the boss about it, but I really don't think its the network since no one's had any problems with the connection and we aren't high tech enough to have anyone else to change the keys. It's all manual.
 
Sorry I was in Canada for the weekend so didnt have a laptop or service.

@wtcortesi It sounds like you cleared a system file or did a wrong command while clearing dalvik cache. The best thing I could recommend would be to re-odin the phone. The way Market is tied to the system would create issues just pushing the .apk

@anabolina Root should be working although I used an older BH2 while doing stuff to the phone so they may have changed it in future release which may cause some issues, you may have to push the the new Super User and Su files, if thats something you want to do ill get the links. As far was wifi goes I honestly can not think of anything, I assume case and name were right along with all the wifi settings so it would be a phone thing. It could be that the Wifi in your phone just doesnt work. Does it work on other networks?
 
Thanks for the reply! I went ahead and took mine back to stock 1.6 and back to your ROM, but no joy. I finally did a hard reset, and Voila! it came back.
Yeah, I did a wrong command alright. Wipe data, then dalvik cache, and that's about all it took!
I think the "wipe data" was the wrong thing to say!
 
thats good, trial and error is the best way to learn. I cant count the number of times my phone has been in boot loop f/c'd or something random. but glad to see it working
 
After running with a HD2 for a while, it's rough coming back to the BH2, but I forgot how nice the camera is and how it still has better HW than 90% of the phones coming out now. If it just had a bit more screen real estate and . . . oh I'm moving into the all too well known BH2 owners wish list. The reality is that this phone, on this ROM is better than what T-Mob US is hocking right now in their stores, HA! Sure it doesn't have 2.2, but it's a nicer phone than the MyTouch by far.

I've away for a couple months and suddenly BH_Man had a name change and bearsfan85 has a new ROM. YAY! Thanks guys!

one question: anyone had problems with Pandora/Grooveshark over bluetooth? I can't get them to switch to the headset. Calls go through just fine to the headset. hmm.

As an aside: can someone tell me why we are still pushing files with ADB instead of using a rooted file explorer like ASTRO? Maybe for some it's easier to just use ADB, but I'm coming from the iPhone and HD2 modding and can't get why ADB is better than simple file transfers. Sure there are some commands that you need to run through ADB (like CHMOD) but for most functions it seems that there are easier ways.
 
there are easier ways for me its a preference thing is all because I was on a computer most of the time with adb

as for pandora with bluetooth, since I dont have the phone I cant take a look at it, hopefully someone can though
 
I'm having an issue with the market since pushing the framework file. I tried clearing dalvik cache & fix permissions. I also tried flashing your rom. Any fix for this? FC everytime.
 
what did you flash the framework over? the framework has nothing to do with the market, also for framework-res.apk questions should be posted in the thread for that. that way if someone has a question about a problem they can look to see if it has been asked.
 
I'm getting an FC on the phone app. If someone calls me it asks to FC, and I can't call out either. This is a serious problem. Also, adb hates me and refuses to work. How else can I repair this issue?
 
Okay, so let me make sure I understand what you want me to do (I'm a bit of a turd at this)... plug phone into the USB port, open Odin, re-flash the ROM just like I did when I did it the first time with the Behold2.ops in OPS and final.tar.md5 in PDA? It's also FCing call log. I'm gonna re-flash it right now and cross my fingers that it works...
