Root [Rom][5-3-12]Broken Out Rom 2.0

Wish I knew why it works for some and not others. After I install it it runs GREAT, frees up a ton of storage, etc, but after a reboot, back to the bootloop here too..

I don't quite understand it either. I installed the ROM on my phone and I have random freezings and the Boot Looping. I installed it on my bride's phone and it works just fine. Hmm... Oh well, even with the boot looping problem, the ROM is so much better than stock.

I flashed the ROM using CWM. Works great! Custom boot animation works perfectly, Swype is amazing and phone runs so much smoother and faster! Great ROM! Fantastic work mtmichaelson!

I think I have it fixed..

I installed a different sdCard then did a factory reset, and wiped the card. Moved BrokenOut 1.2 zip to the card, flashed it, then rebooted.

Got everything updated with Google, rebooted several times and no boot loops. Then I made a Backup of it, copied it to my usual card, rebooted into recovery and restored that backup, and it booted, and survived several reboots.

Then used Ti Backup up to restore everything, then rebooted... ugh, damn bootloop! So, I remembered somebody in this thread getting out of the bootloop by plugging the USB cable into it, then rebooting.. so I tried it.. IT WORKED!

So far I have been running it for a few hours and it is running great!

FINALLY! :D

Strike that, phone locked up on me about an hour ago. Battery pull, boot loop, etc. Plugged the cable in, boots great, runs great... until I pull the cable, then it reboots and bootloops again..

ugh

EDIT: Rbooted the phone with the cable attached, and just let it re-charge all night(I was at 57% when I started charging). This morning, pulled the cable and the phone works fine so far.

Weird

Since this ROM is lighter, would it have more space on which to install apps? Because the memory on this phone is really limited.

I've had this ROM for a couple weeks now and I love it. The only thing I am missing is a new lockscreen. I hate the stock Pantech one, and lockscreen apps don't reliably unlock all the time.

Other than that, thanks, it's great!

I have had pretty good luck with MagicLocker. Just a rare occasional lag..

It flashes smoothly (I formatted)

Checked all the normal stuff like cam, ffc, data etc. All is great
nice simple lock screen!

Good stuff :)
And very smooth

Registered just to post this and thank you!

Came from stock post update with root and CWM courtesy of yourself. Flashed with no issues, wiped dalvik, and other caches as well. Everything seems to be working perfectly so far!

So much more memory! I was down to maybe 40 mbs on the stock rom, but with the same stuff installed, I have around 160 mb free with this rom. Very quick and looks great! Thank you thank you thank you! NO BLOAT FTW!

This keeps on getting better and better. So far so good.

Although, I'm still getting that quirky boot loop issue. Here's what I did to install:

1. Complete wipe/factory reset.
2. Install 1.0
3. Clear cache, clear dalvik, reboot - pull battery at splash screen.

Repeat process for 1.1; 1.2; and then 2.0. The boot loops aren't a huge issue because I have a charger at work, in the car, and at home. All I need to do is either keep it charged or plug it in to restart. It is quirky though and I haven't figured it out. Again, it's not a big thing, but I am wondering what's going on with that.

I flashed straight to 2.0 , from stock. Flashed in cwm, wiped cache. Even restored some stuff from titanium backup. No boot loop.

First time rooting a phone, got all the 2.0 ROM files, rooted, flashed ROM, everything's working fine! Super fast performance now, lots of free space (250Mb), just amazing! Thanks!

Have you rebooted the phone since install?
Have you let the batter run down off charger, and how far?

These seem to be the two areas I get the dreaded bootloop

I've tried rebooting about 10 times, completely shutting down about 10 times, had the battery down to 3% before charge, etc. No bootloop, just a solid build.

the new 2.0 is great but alarm doesn't work(crashes when it tries to go off)

also is there a way to re route the voice command button? Like say. using that as another lock button or home button...

shouldnt have to do what you did. i do the following since the epic
clear data 3 times
clear caches 3 times
format data once

flash rom

i just installed 2.0 straight

Thanks..

I don't get why some people have the bootloop problem and others dont.

It won't reboot for me without the bootloop,. unless I reboot it with the charging cable plugged it.

Other than that, 2.0 rocks..

Anyone find a work around for the alarm clock?

That's really the only big issue I've found.. its too bad its an annoyingly important one :p

I don't get why some have these problems either. I originally rooted with zergrush manual procedures and I had intermittent reboots without warning. I've since rerooted with the files at the begining of this tread and installed the Brokeout 1.2 ROM and I get none of the reboots or bootloop problems. I've run this ROM since 4/5/12 and its perfectly stable so far. The only issue I had with the unrooting was that superuser was still in the phone which I manually uninstalled before rooting and installing v1.2 ROM. I'll try V2.0 to get the extra storage space soon.
