Root ROM and Kernal setups?

I went through and read up on setCPU... Easier than it first looked. Haha!

I'm running the 1.8ghz kernel with stock ROM set at (on demand) "245/1401".

I also setup a profile for SCREEN OFF (Conservative) "245/368".

Recharged my phone to 99% at 11:00pm last night. Sat off charger all night. Currently have 84% battery and it's 2:35pm today. Moderate Use...

Could you possibly let me know if the 1.8ghz kernel is stable for you or not? I tried it but the phone kept constantly restarting. So i stick with the 1.5ghz

I'm not running it, but scale it back until it stops rebooting, that should help. Not all phones can handle big overclocking...

I don't have it running at 1.8ghz

Currently I'm running around 1.35-1.4 and its stable.

I switched back to the 1.5ghz kernel though because changing my background (with longpress) and other little things weren't working with the 1.8ghz kernel. Nothing major, but little things that bugged me.

Update:

Kernel:
Switched over to the x99 kernel from BcNice20's. x99 is basically just bc's kernel with a few little tweaks here and there. The kernel has two additional clock speeds between 768MHz and 368MHz. Normally, the smartass governor can't "jump" down from 768MHz to 368MHz because the step is too large and additional clock speeds fix that. Also, the last two versions have a lower minimum clock speed (184Mhz).

However, I'm not using the latest kernel (20110323) quite yet since it has the lowest clock speeds undervolted which I'm not exactly confident about. I'm going to wait to hear about what others say before I make the switch. Additionally, version (20110321) constantly froze up when using the smartass governor. Currently I'm using (20110322) clocked to around 1.4ghz with the smartass controller and it is working excellent. The Dev has also been making updates quite frequently. Kernel Link!

ROM:
Right now I'm using the MikShift ROM. MikShift v1.0 is Based off of RUU 1.17.651.1 however it has been completely rebuilt to include the least amount of useless files possible. It is 100% Odexed, tweaked for performance and battery life, and the images have all been fully optimized.

The Dev has also created several .Zip files that can be flashed in order to perform certain mods and tweaks. These mods include a 4-in-1 Boot menu, status bar ADB and GPS icon removal, Remappable (right bottom) launch button, 12 different Metamorph animations, Bloatware removable, Useless HTC app removal, Hulu support, Zipalign on boot, Black/Semi-transparent 4 or 5 row app drawer, custom green theme, and a hack to enable the stock wifi tether software.

In my opinion MikShift is definitely the best/fastest/most customizable ROM currently available. However, I wasn't totally convinced at first because I was getting lower quadrant scores even though my phone felt faster. After asking around I was told to not take the quadrant scores too seriously because they don't exactly test the phone in areas used with everyday use. This ROM is undoubtedly WAY snappier and A LOT faster than stock. An update version is also expected to come out today so keep your eyes peeled! ROM Link!

Sparknotes: x99 kernel is a modified version of the 1.5ghz bcnice kernel. MikShift is the absolute bees knees!
