Bummed out by the lack of development for the CDMA Wildfire S, I took matters into my own hands. I decided to port Jerryscript's incredible Optimus V rom, BACKside, to the Wildfire S. I used Simonsimon34's SStock for the base. The result is BACKfire. This is very much an alpha build, it has a long way to go before I figure it's ready for daily use. I didn't include screenshots because it looks exactly the same on the WFS as it does on the OV.
The good news...
It boots, SMS, calls, and wifi all work. I haven't tested anything else yet.
The bad news....
The current kernel doesn't support overclocking (yet) and it sometimes hangs on boot up. If it does, just pull the battery and try again.
This is an unofficial port of an unofficial port, and as such is something of a hack job. I take no credit for any of the hard work that went into making either of the two roms I frankenstiened into this. My goal for this is to rebuild it from source, tailor made for the WFS. I do not consider myself a dev, but this might turn me into one....
