just spotted this not too long ago and haven't seen a post about it

second link is the droid forums specific and lists some of the download links (also found in first link) as well as some instructions for those who need it.

[OFFICIAL] CyanogenMod 7 for Droid :: V7.0.0-RC4 (30 March 2011) - CyanogenMod Forum

I haven't tried it myself as I'm still new to the community but just reading up on it all the same and thought I share what I found

changelogs as well:

Downloaded and flashed a little while ago. Same as RC2 as far as I can see. Still no bluetooth. I was so hoping this RC would have fixed that. I may have to look for another gingerbread rom. Darn.

What?

Works fine for me. Maybe you are doing something wrong.

Well sure, that goes without saying. But I have had several phones and lately several ROMs that have all worked fine in my car, except for the original Android 2.0.

I tried Simply Stunning 5.2 Gingerbread ROM last night, and it synched and connected with my car lust like CM 6.1.2 did. It is just the CM 7 that doesn't seem to work.

I might keep the SS (which BTW definitely lives us to its name) but I have always been partial to CM.

Is there any other problem guys I really like to know before I jump to 7, because I'm still on 6.2.1. I tried 7RC2 and I did not like it too mush still had some major bugs.

Thank you in advance!

I decided to stay with SS 5.2, it seems to work better for me, and with Chevy's kernel I clock at 900 MHz, the fastest I can run with stability.
Everything seems to work for me as well as or better than CM, and has many of the CM features.
I think I will periodically check out CM updates, but I am perfectly content with SS. Good luck to you. YMMV because no 2 droids seem alike!

There are at least 2 big problems people are fighting on CM7 on the droid 1:

1) Exchange email stops syncing after some seemingly random period of time. Other phones are having this problem too. It doesn't seem like this is going to be fixed before release. Rebooting fixes the issue till it happens again.

2) Multitasking capability is much reduced in GB due to our low memory phones. There are some things you can do to make it better if search around the cyanogenmod droid forum.

had it for a couple days and its running good, seems to have less fc's with launcherpro than rc2, but i dunno if that makes sense. Not much change

After a week or so of trials, I have noticed that occasionally I will lose wifi or 3d coverage even while the phone is sitting still on my desk. I have to toggle between wifi and 3G to restore a signal, and if that doesn't work, I need to reboot. This is in CM 7 RC2 and RC4 with their default kernel maxed at 800mHz, and SS 5.2 with its default kernel at 900 mHz, the fastest stable clock rate. It is most notable, but not exclusive to Subsonic app (music streaming from home pc).

I do not have any of the aforementioned problems with exchange mail as I don't use it, and I haven't noticed the multitasking because I don't often toggle between tasks.

I don't know if this is CM related or something on my end, but as of Thursday, my timestamps in my messages are off by an hour. I live about 45 minutes from the Alabama/Georgia border, so there might be some funny business there, but it's never happened before.

As I mentioned before, since Thursday, so I was running the nightly as of Wednesday night. I bumped back down the RC4 then upgraded to #38 today. No change. Factory reset, cleared everything. I tried *228 and thought maybe it was a tower issue, but both options didn't fix it.

Anyone else experience this? I even when to the phone's clock settings and it's on whatever the carrier says it is.

I'll get a text with the time stamp one hour ahead and my reply will be local time. It does it for all contacts. Sometimes it'll give up and a new text will be correct, but then it goes right back to being one hour ahead. And it messes up the order of the texts.

I can vouch for both of these issues. I have gone back to Froyo. I just don't think my old DROID can handle GB with only 256 MB of memory. FRG83D works great and it will work until I upgrade in July.

So while everyone has had GB releases CM is still at an RC stage? Is there a particular reason for it? Just asking.

CM7 has been released for almost every phone except the droid 1. Click the link in my post above yours to read why.

They are getting close though. Cpvs developed a permanent fix for the 3G issues, he started working on the camera now. I think that is the last issue they want to fix before committing to a release version.

Yeah, unfortunately it does not look like the exchange issue is going to be fixed. On the bug for it they mentioned the one person that was working on the exchange stuff left CM and is not working on it anymore. It sounded like they don't even have anyone that can even look into the issue at this point.

I'm gunna have to live with it until the right new phone comes out sometime this year. I can't go back to CM 6.1. CM7 otherwise runs so much smoother on my droid.

Where can one get the 3G fix? Is it available individually? I need that fix for my RC4 pronto!!!

Not sure if you can get it individually, but Cpvs found a fix for the MMS-issue as well and promised that a final release version for D1 is forthcoming very soon
