Root [ROM] Codename Android

Hi, I'm a crackflasher and oooohhhh, I need a fix!!!! Don't dare until I can make a nandroid backup. Colchiro, how did you get yours working? I really, really want to try CNA to tide me over 'til JBSourcery comes out. AAHH, this.....is.....killing....meeee!

If there isn't some other fix when I get back from Vancouver I'll try this. I seem to be the only one that has system that can't make a nandroid backup. The main reason I would flash back is to try to restore the structure of the SDcard so nandroid backups can run. So I'll do a full Titanium, Apex, Nova. Find out where the files are then move them to computer. Move data, media to computer. Flash back to stock. Then move the stuff on the computer back to the sd card. Hope I can get it back into the right directory. I'll record the file path where I find the files so I will know approximately where they go back.

Well, back from Vancouver. Had the flu for a week now so just getting around to it. Wiped everything, (including factory reset) reflashed stock 4.2 & then rerooted. Nandroid backups working again now.Took me a while to get everything back. Damn Windows 7 explorer bogs down every time I try to do a file transfer. Guess I'll have to fix it next. Dang, used to have to work on cars to keep them running. Now, the cars do fine but the computers always need some tinkering. Oh, well, it's not as greasy and cold/hot and backbreaking as working on the cars was.
OK, just catching up. What's the latest and greatest 4.2 ROM? Still CNA or is everyone somewhere else?

Google (Chrome) warned me their website contains malware. I guess I'll try something else. Currently on Phandroid but not too crazy about it. Just got my table Saturday and still experimenting with it.

This has been the final reason I won't be flashing this any time soon. Google had been saying that for a while now. I ran CNA for a short time on my Incredible 2, but as it seems here, there wasn't much active communication/upkeep. I'll keep watch on their site, but won't be visiting it until they clear that up.

It's still working well for me. :D

Have you heard anything about the website, or if we could expect an update to 4.2 someday?

So I just got my n7 today done a lot of flashing but never had to unlock a device. Can I go straight from stock to cna or are there some steps I need to follow and what recovery its best?

Do unlock. It's easy, and won't hurt a bit :D
I recommend team win recovery (TWRP), it seems to have l had less issues in the past with the 4.2 update, but either CWM or TWRP should be good. They're the most commonly used.
You should be able to just do a full wipe and then install. Just make sure to make a backup of your stock setup before doing anything to it.

I need some help. I've been trying to flash this and always get stuck at the Google screen. I have the latest ver of twrp I'm coming from cm10 fusion I've wiped everything 3 times over. I've tried coming from a 4.1 ROM I'm at a loss I've flashed many ROMs and never have this problem please help

I'll stick with my JROMFlasher recommendation. It IS a bit to set up, but you'll be able to use it again. I use it anytime I make a major switch and haven't had any problems yet.

Otherwise, the only other thing I can think of if you really want this rom bad, is to flash back to stock 4.1, bootloader and all and then try flashing it. I don't know how to flash just the bootloader, which may be an option, but search and ye may find.

EDIT: Just saw your last post, see below.

Its funny you say go back to stock because this was the first ROM I tried flashing after I unlocked this device. I'm just at a loss I've been at this for days now and made no progress. I've DL every version of this rom with gapps and nothing

You now have a matching md5?

This shouldn't be this difficult. Don't get too discouraged. Once you've made it through the cloud, you'll be glad. It really ought to be quite simple :o
