I am about to have my phone rooted, mainly to get rid of the fps cap and the bloatware, but was wondering if I should install a custom ROM also? I know there are several like fresh and bakedsnacks but is there a thread that compares them side by side? I am not concerned with battery life, just want it to be faster and smoother.

There is a webpage that has most of them listed with pictures and info, but I can't find it. Been looking for it but I can't remember the post or link to it. Maybe someone will post it up.

EVO 4G Android Development - xda-developers there are plenty of ROMs to choose from there. And for the FPS cap you need to flash a custom Kernel not a custom ROM.

But to note, some of the custom ROMS come with a custom Kernel that unlocks the FPS cap.
