Root [ROM] CyanogenMod 7 Huawei M835

UPDATE: My Method doesn't work (I tried to repackage the boot.img using the Kernel from the original M835 Stock and put into the CM7 Zip) and then it went into a reboot loop :(

I did the same, but didnt have high hopes. If it was that easy, PG woulda figured it out. Im currently rebuilding the original kernel with an overclock feature, but Im havin a mental block with the programming. Ill figure it out tho and let you guys know how it turns out. If it works I'll post it here for PG to package, unless its unstable in whick case I'll just put it up with a warning

Do you have the kernel src?

Not in the rom in the zip file. My bad. But anyways, nearly bricked my phone, so Im back to square one.

Im pretty sure I put it in there, but if not, let me know, and Ill scour my desktop for it lol
 
You know, I just thought of a idea, can't someone just take the /system/wifi folder and inject that into the CM7 Zip? :)

the wifi module is looking for a 2.6.32-perf kernel and isnt finding one as the CM7-Ascend uses a .29 kernel.

I compiled and uploading as I type a version with the stock m835 kernel.
 
Idk if this would work, but huawei released thier huawei u8800 kernel 2.6.32-perf. wna try that? I could email it to u
 
Is it safe to assume that Mate35 - Modded Stock ROM for Huawei M835 is still not working as well?
I am currently running my M835 on CM6-Ascend-MetroPCS-04212011.
Download here if anyone would like to try it until this one has WiFi working.
If I knew what files to mod with the correct screen resolution for the M835 I would be happy with this ROM, But I do not :confused:
The resolution is not that bad most of the time but there are certain screens that its not that great.

For the fix for the resolution, open build.prop within the archiving program, search for "density" and change the value from 160 to 120, save the file and save the zip :)

EDIT: Tried the CM6 Ascend build and for when I scan with Wi-Fi, it says it's unable to scan and then turns Wi-Fi off on it's own :(
