Root [ROM] DroidSmith_Force - Beta

Just loaded up the 0.6 release yesterday - other than my dislike of the launcher everything is very nice and clean, a bit jerky until a few reboots and using my apps a few times - as expected with any rom.

Only complaint is that chrome wanted to update as soon as I signed in to google.

Great rom for 'stock on a diet'

Thanks!

Its a work in progress. I haven't really done much with it yet. My primary focus has been matrix kernel, but I have started to make some serious system edits that will be in future releases.

Just wanted to say uploaded it no problem have it running and testing all the known issues from others. My wifi works, blue tooth idc about tbh, Music no crashes, no reboots so far, just installed my normal apps like kik. Suprisingly it's working better than stock, I was going to send my phone in for auto reboots and random shut offs, this rom has so far shown promise those may be behind me. Good work and thank you :)

Its got a ways to go before its 100%, but thank you

Oh yes I know but it works better than the stock. Only thing is still having same Screen of Death issue I did with stock. They've been working on towers here adding more 4G ones didn't start til then so I am going to do a run without 4G and see if it fixes the issue. Other wise I pray not to have to send my phone to ZTE -.- due to missing calls and random shut offs, mainly over night tho lol.

4g is spotty in Phoenix, and I've had numerous issues because of it. For now I set my phone to CDMA only.

Running droidsmith beta with the matrix kernal all is running well. Only issue I've noticed is some time the data will cut in out for a brief time. I'm new to android and mods. Thanks jimsmith for all your hard work if not for the ics youre working on my phone would still be a paperweight.

And I was about to say, it's been a while. How are things going?

I should be about half done with the toggles. Once that's done I want to make a few tweaks to my kernel code. I hoping you wouldn't mind testing that. Once that all is dialed in I'll put the finishing touches on the rom. I have a lot of stuff going on at home right now, but I should have something for you guys either this weekend or the following weekend.

I'm willing to test anything you throw out here as long as I have good instructions since I'm still noobish but I've learned a lot in my short Time with roms, mods and stuff

Good to know. By the way I love the Fredy pic. Huge fan of the original series

Found a few minor issues, even after calibration battery still doesn't hold a full charge maybe about 3-5% missing though not necessaryly the rom. Also on reboots or full shut off and powering on updating apps still pops up may need to reflash rom I'll look into it later, also after reboot custom ringtones assigned to contacts revert to default ringtone. Just some minor problems more annoying than serious.

@thagheist3 your phone turning off at 4% is a feature meant to protect your battery from completely discharging. Trust me, you don't want your battery to completely discharge, if it does practically hit zero, which my phone has done for different reasons, you'll have to plug your phone in without the battery and put your battery in, if you're on cm10 you'll have to follow the same steps but hold the power button at the same time because the developer hasn't fixed that bug where the phone freezes or something if you plug it in while off.

I knew about the 4% :P I was just making a note about right after unplugging at 100% it drops to 98-95% in less than 10 mins but the rest of the time I still get normal discharge, battery lasts about 10-12 hours with normal use heavy use is about 5 hours so can't complain to much just wondering if was issue or normally problem.

I've noticed the same issue but its not enough to care the overall performance of my battery is awesome. Gaming for me on the force sucks though the battery gets extremely hot and if the charger is plugged in it won't charge. I know it has nothing to do with the rom but just figured id share
