you sure you wiped everything? alao you may wanna redownload and try again. the backup not working says to me you probably renamed it or something, did you change the folder name from the time code it uses? kuz if you fo that you get a checksum error. it doesnt just check the files it checks the whole path so any changes is folder names either manually done or caused by changing cwm versions will cause failure
 
yep
different cwm versions sometimes have different mount points for sd so its highly possible if it was changed after the backup was made
 
I'm not sure what happened, I never renamed anything. I am currently using the backup that was posted to the form to get into stock. I tried wiping everything and then reinstall DSF but it would immediately say it failed. I will let you know if this worked.

so you didnt rename it... but someone did. that is your problem. you need to make your own backups from now on
 
I had been making my own backups. There's a thread on here with a backup for those that get soft bricked. Which I am assuming happened to me. I can now access my phone. However, I can no longer use DSF. I try to install it but it immediately says failed and (Status 0)

I will never know what happened. I have used that backup before, many times while experimenting and then this happens and now I can't even reinstall DSF. Oh well. At least my phone boots up. Sucks it's stock.
 
There's a zip somewhere on here that you can flash rather than restore from the official "update" from zte. That will return you to stock. You shouldn't need that old back up.
 
I don't know what I have done but I can't flash anything. Can't flash DSF or that Stock update. I give up. I'll just dispose of this phone soon, I can't stand stock.

I think I figured it out, my CWM somehow got updated to v6.0.4.6.. how do I go back to v6.0.4.4? I downloaded the one from the thread but it stays as 4.6....

NVM, I flashed the touch version and it fixed all my problems. Weird thing is I remember reflashing the touch version and still had problems, but since I flashed the non-touch and then flashed back to the touch version I was able to install DSF. WHEW!
 
first and for most thanks for the rom i was wondering why did ya take swype that came on the force off it worked very well can ya tell me how i can get it back but i like the rom other wise

remove carrier made my force lose all of the boost Mobile carrier codes and all that off so i messed it up for the longest time and i had to get cdma work shop and it still aint right would you happen to have a nandroid just after root?
 
Nobody knows but my phone feels like it runs a bit smoother with it. I'll be donating my phone soon anyways, I fell out of love with it.

Hey hey, I know I'm a little late to the thread, but I just flashed this ROM to my phone and I'm very satisfied with it, but I'd like to be able to make changes and help develop on it. Is there a git repository I can clone and work with for this?
 
The rom is just a modified stock rom, so their is no source code to work with. I no longer have this device, so I am not comfortable with making changes to it that I cannot test. If you want to use it as a base for a new rom you are welcome to do so.
