Root [ROM-FroYo] will i get automatic notifications of updates?

wondering if it will notify me of new updates automatically?
Is there anywhere i can sign up for notifications/

You wont get ota updates no more as you are rooted, & not using a standard rom.

i know i dont get ota updates.. but is there a notification setting in the rom ?
just something that tells me a new one has been released?
or a email subscription service?

not that i have found, as far as i know you just keep checking back at the site you got the rom from

Got to admit it would be handy, but it's a small price to pay for the level of customization we have got.
