Can this ROM do the wifi hotspot thing?

I've been having problems with CM7 and figured I'd try 2.2 once again and see if things changed, but I use the wifi hotspot feature a lot.

Anybody feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but no that feature is disable even in these modified Froyo ROM's. I'm not sure what is the cause of it being disabled though. Its possible they just have the kernel setup to where it doesn't support it. I say that because the ROM itself still has the menu hidden for wifi tethering. It is possible to override that hidden feature but once you enable it it does absolutley NOTHING. Your only shot that I know of right now to keep your hotspot feature is using CM7.

I believe tickerguy, mantera, and isaac have enabled something called mss clamping in their 2.3+ roms. I wonder if it could be enabled in 2.2?
 
Sorry if this has been covered.
When I call or get calls the resonance on the other end can barely hear me, or say I sound low and muffled? Was there a fix for this or anyone else have that problem

my calls have always been clear when using this rom... :confused: try reflashing

hmmm... beats me. i will try to find out whats going on. do you have a case on your phone thats blocking the mic beside the battery cover?

If your on a call it uses the mic by the charging port, not the one on the back. The one on back is used when recording videos and maybe speakerphone.
 
Suggestion for future additions.
Screenshots on the power button.
Notification bar with power buttons (Wifi, gps, brightness, tourch, etc).
Oever clock, or is this already available?

Thanks for the great improvements. I like the 2.2 roms since everything works. Gb and ics are great but i keep coming back to 2.2 for the functionality of everything.

If you guys are having trouble updating the Google Music app to the new version, you'll have to do the following:

-Open Root explorer(or equivalent)
-Delete the Music app from "system/app" folder
-Restart the phone
-Download the new Google Music app from Market
 
Awesome job guys!!! I think this is gonna be on my phone for a veryvery long time :) i only have one suggestion, which has been put out a few times: in the drop down menu it would be alot easier to read the notifications if the dark grey letters were a few shades lighter.

would you like to see them lighter, or ics blue? :D or if you want to make a drawing of a new color scheme, go ahead. we will take any and all requests if possible.
 
As others have pointed out, I'd also like to see:

1. Drop down menu with power control
2. Easier to read colors in drop down menu
3. Custom carrier names
4. Dimming soft buttons


Also my battery has been horrendous compared to MIUI, is there a way to fix that? So far its been very stable and smooth. It's been my daily ROM.

if you mean custom carrier names like cm7 reloaded, that wont be able to be added. but we are changing the carrier name to the roms name. (if that helps)

power control is on its way along with easier to read colors :)

the dimming soft lights? i didnt know they could dim... (please explain)


also, about the battery life. we are gonna try a few things to improve it.
