Root [ROM] Harmonia 2.03 28Sept12 (Virgin)

The first test version of the cwm port couldn't unmount the /system partition, so it couldn't format it. That was what was fixed in the second test version. You'll need to update the cwm if you're still on the first test version.

Yup, it looks like that fixed some of my issues. Using adb while in recovery, i deleted the "/system/bin/sh" that harmania had by default. It was a symlink to something that I don't thing exists? Then I pushed the stock "sh" there, changed it to 0755, owner 0, group 2000. then rebooted by phone and now adb and root are working.
Finally got my Elite to connect to my laptop and adb in recovery, I can see the sh file in ES File explorer, but when I go in with adb it isn't there, just the directories.

Make sure you are using a recent CWM recovery.
That seems to be some of the issues, I am looking into the SH issue and once fixed I will post an update. This is the first time I have tried doing a rom from scratch like this, so you will have to forgive the bugs here and there.

On the other hand, a few weeks ago we only had a glimmer of hope for a recovery, now we are bug squashing a rom. We will get it.

As I said earlier, once we have this all sorted, I will post up a stock and Aeneas and you guys can have at it. Both of which you guys are free to build from.

2.01 uploaded
Fixes SU errors that caused wifi issues.

I think I got it this time.

For those wondering...
I still don't know entirely what Ktb83 did, I know he removed a lot from the installer, which allowed the rom to work. but also removed a lot of special functions, which were handled by the Symlinks. Symlinks were a large part of the problem, but also the SuperSu I was using was an issue, not sure why since it works on the Evo V. Then again, it could have been the symlnks making it seem that way. These have been a fight all along.

Anyhow, while testing the symlinks after Ktb83 made his changes, I made one with no symlinks and one with. I thought I tested the one with, and it worked, so I made the rom from it. 2.01 has the corrected symlinks (I think). All tests I ran worked. Wifi tether worked, Es file root worked, as did Mybackup pro.

I want to wait for other testers to confirm it is all good before I release the other roms, but I will get them ready.

I feel like a total noob, but how do I flash this from CWM? I haven't had the chance to install a custom ROM since my old-ass Optimus V. I am very rusty. And old.

In recovery wipe system, cache, and in advanced wipe Dalvik.
Then flash zip from sdcard.

You don't need to wipe data?

Not sure how much tweaking you plan to do to the ROM and if you take requests, but something I'd love to see and miss from my tablet, is the ability to clear individual notifications without going to the app that sent the notification and power control (sound, 3g/wifi/airplane, display, sync, gps toggles) in the notification dropdown.

Thanks for help with this.

did you guys ever think you would see the elite with recovery AND three new roms? i had my doubts. but glad to finally see the elite getting the good stuff. i used harmonia on the optimus v and it was lighting fast. i know it will be even more so on the elite.

Was gmail and talk intentionally left out of the ROM?

I guess gapps should be flashed as restoring the system apps causes problems.

Oh yes, it is so snappy... It's not even funny.

First i have to say WOOT ROMS on OE!

next i have to say WOOT 2095 quadrant (not that it means much, but the bench ran butter smooth)

Now, i installed a fresh Harmonia 2.1 install and have a couple of strange error messages in the notification bar. When i am using Mass Storage, i have an error message that says "You can only perform this operation in the USA" and when i turn it to charge only it says something about "entering security code incorrectly one more time will cause all of your data ...."

Everything seems to work, i have had no issues as of yet. Just strange to get those errors.

I think ktb found those as well.

I had an idea.. Could we use theme chooser themes from ROM toolbox? It said I couldn't use the icon changer so that's what I'm assuming

Just reestablishing this for my own good, I know its not recommended that you need to do a full/clean wipe, but that's what I'm used to doing before I flash new roms, so can someone else verify for me that they have done a complete wipe and all is well, please?
