Root rom help

I've tried out a couple 2.2 roms. fresh, evio, damage, all freaking amazing. However one thing that I can't seem to get to work is connecting to my car usb. For charging or usb SD card mounting. I'm back to using 2.1 rooted stock. Any suggestions? If maybe boot Rom choice or a 2.2 Rom with this support. cuz nand restore everytime is tedious. And heres a shout out to all those brill devs thank you.

I can confirm that my evo connects to the car USB just fine for charging on DC 3.5 with the King's latest BFS kernel. I have not tried mounting it since my media can play through bluetooth and I find that easier.
