Do you have to do ALL the tweaks or only to change the Hboot? What Hboot is recommended?

Looking forward to trying this out.
Thanks again for all your work.

I just installed her files listed here.

PRI - MD5 - 026b0d970b06fe9db88873e375ccbf74 (do not decompress this!)
Hboot - md5 - 99df68934deb03cfcec63d7b1b9cb97b (do not decompress this!)
Radio - md5 - 0ab6aeb4ca9421d5ea8e9ced722554bc (do not decompress this!)

With out installing these the phone will just sit in a boot loop. Something I encountered when messing with CM9

actually if you need the hacks it would make it into an Evo 3d if I am correct.. so its not really deticated to the Evo V, still very cool though

Since I am very new still till the Evo my understanding is these hacks will actually make the phone work better.

This will document how to more or less turn your phone into a Sprint Evo 3D with all the best parts. The purpose of this is to reduce signal fluctuations, increase signal strength, and allow you to run almost any Virgin or Sprint rom, old or new with as few issues as possible. MMS, phone, everything works, exactly as it should.

Now the difference between the Sprint CM10 and HTCCM10 is I am rewriting the code to work on the Virgin Mobile Network so it's more inline with our stock library files, and not the Sprint phone. If you load the Sprint CM10 Voice Mail notifications do not work, on HTCCM10 the Voice Mail notifications do work. I will slowly be adding in fixes for the rest of our hardware but it still need's a lot of work before it's done.

This phone IS an evo 3d with slightly different software...

My evo has the Sprint logo. It is the exact same phone with the exact same hardware...

G60,
This new CM based ROM is very exciting and has tons of potential. Under issues regarding the camera, does this mean the 2D camera is completely non-functioning, or limited functionality? With other non-sense roms the 2D camera works but is no frills. At this point do you even know how difficult it will be to get the camera working? This must seem like deja vu coming from the Motorola Triumph.

I actually had the camera working just fine with no issues for 2D, however there was other hacks done to the code causing random reboots. Luckily agrabren has all the patches in one area so I will slowly work them in with each build to make sure we are stable. This will be a very logical step by step process to get us to a solid ROM. Right now my focus is on the Video issues and also MMS, then I will add in the camera. I just want to make sure the Video is working properly because when I did record video using the Sprint CM10 ROM from the camera it would not playback. These again are the subtle differences between our phones. Same hardware but different libs, and network.

Are you simultaneously developing CM9 and CM10? Which one is on a higher priority? Either way glad you're staying busy. Just remember to take some time off for the holidays :D

Since CM10 is rocking, I have decided to let CM9 sit for now. No real reason to have ICS when Jelly Bean is better :) Plus Google Now works in CM10 :D:D

Jelly Bean is a nice treat for sure, but i'm starting to get a craving for some Key Lime Pie :p

Google Now is fantastic though. At first I thought it would be a little gimmicky, but I actually talk to my phone on a regular basis now and guess what, it talks back lol.

For video playback, I think there's a fix for it in the Evo 3D CM10... something about disabling HW overlays in developer settings? Idk if you've already tried this.

Also, for MMS, you might want to look at this MMS.apk, it allows for receiving, but no sending. Credit to davidmargolin for sharing/untheming it, although I think lensflare found it originally or built it (lensflare got banned on XDA for some reason- details here)

It seems to work on any Jellybean build (I tried it with MIUI and CM10 with appropriate VM settings).

This excites me. Is there any particular reason you have to use the Sprint radios? How about the updated Virgin Mobile one?

they do from what I hear, just saying though it more or less makes it into an Evo 3d, instead of evo v

∙ You will need S-Off
∙ You will need to run Lesile Ann's hacks - Note you do not need to change PRL

You need to S-Off (unlock the bootloader) in order to install the downgraded hboot from the fix everything thread. That is the only thing you actually need to flash other ROMs. The radio, PRI and PRL updates are just to improve the signal strength of the phone and to fix the radio error where texts and calls do not send. It is still recommend you flash everything from the thread as your device SHOULD preform better, but technically all you need is the downgraded hboot, which requires S-Off to flash.
