Root [ROM] HTCCM10 build 20130102 *Touch Screen Addon

Been testing JB ROMs for a while and I think I'm stuck with this one. It's the best one out there. I just wondered why the 4g won't come out in the status bar, is there a fix?

toggle seems broken, but you can just long press it to go to WiMAX settings and turn it on/off from there.

Seems like phone encryption doesn't work? Any idea why this might be? Logcat says something like this:

05-04 23:57:16.115 100 131 D VoldCmdListener: cryptfs enablecrypto inplace {}
05-04 23:57:16.115 100 131 E Cryptfs : Cannot get size of block device

What are you using to encrypt the phone with?

Not sure I follow? It had 4G not sure about tweaks and such to make it faster.

I think I was wrong about the speed thing but, Mobster's ROMs and Midnight have this thing were it removes Virgin Mobile's throttling speed restrictions (I.E. 2.5 GB at full speed)

Got ya, yeah I have no clue...since I have very little access to 4G as it's 3 cities away I don't get to play much with it. Last times I did use it I had no issues but have never gotten close to the 2.5GB limit.

Personally where I live 4G is not widespread but data overall has been better ever since I did the "3D Fix" so that's why I was wondering. If you want to know the specifics ask Mobz or someone more another dev that knows more about incorporating it.

This is the standard built in encryption from ICS/JB (actually Honeycomb, but nobody cares about that). It looks like it is broken in CM10 in general, cf. this bug: Issue 5678 - cyanogenmod - encrypt phone - CyanogenMod Android ROM - Google Project Hosting

It may be possible to fix it by hacking at the init scripts; there are clues as to potential fixes in the comments of that link. At any rate it seems to be fixed in CM10.1; at least, I am successfully using it on my Nexus 7 running the first CM10.1 milestone for that device.

I tried to hack at the init scripts but failed. I plan to try again, hopefully tomorrow.

hey everybody, i just flashed the rom lastnight, and its great, everything works perfectly except one thing. It has been mentioned by a few people in this thread but no one ever had a fix for it (if there is one). All it is, is the backlights for the home/menu/back/search keys. It looks like they just dim down really low instead of turn off, which for some reason keeps the search key lit up partially. I know its not a big deal in terms of stability or anything obviously, but it can be annoying, lol. I was just wondering if anyone knows if theres anything that can be done about it? whether its increasing the time that they stay on, or turn them off completely? ive tried apps to do it, but they just dont cut it, they either dim them as well, or they take forever to turn the lights back on or off when the screen turns on or off.

any replies would be great, thank you for the great rom, its nice to be back to non-sense again (oh yes, the pun is intended...) lol :)

To the best of my knowledge( which isn't saying much lol)its not a prob with the rom. Its a light leak from the screen that "bleeds out" around the search key. Just an inherent prob with our phones. Wish I had a better answer for u.

Oh, thank you for the quick answer :) So its just a light leak from the LCD backlight? that would make sense, lol, thats too bad though, im glad its not something with the rom. I wonder if theres a way to keep the button LED's on longer? Like the length that the screen is on would be great. if not ill just have to learn to deal with it, unfortunately :P thanks again for the reply, greatly appreciated :)

No problem. I've messaged some of the devs personally and so far, have yet to get a response as how to fix it. I know its possible to keep the capacitive lights on the same amount of time as the screen. All the sense 3.6 roms have it. Someone with the right knowledge of how to adjust those values will have to take some initiative and remedy it. Problem is...who is that guy ur know lol. Waitin and wishin...

Yeah i came from Harmonia, which im pretty sure was sense 3.6. From what i remember the lights stayed on til the screen turned off, which is of course what your talking about. So its definitely possible like you said, but, also like you said its just a matter of finding the right person that knows how to go about fixing it for non-sense. It seems like it would be a pretty easy thing to fix, maybe just changing some values in some system files, but apparently not lol. Again thanks for your help and hopefully someone will get back to you soon :)

Edit:

I've came across something else a little strange, i play a few games on my phone, and on Harmonia they all played just fine, but now on CM10, I tried opening them, and some worked, and some didn't. Bike Race worked just fine, but, I opened Whale Trail, and although it sounds like the app is running just fine (i can hear the menu music and everything) its just a solid black screen. Any known reason for this? I tried selecting "Force GPU Rendering" because that was about the only thing i could think of to try, and nothing.

If anyone is willing to give that game a try just to see what happens, that would be great, or if there's a known fix that would obviously be even better.

Just for reference I tried launching it on the stock kernel and Buttered Toast, with no change at all.

Re-Edit:

Forgot to mention Minecraft does the same thing as well, blank black screen on startup.

:D thanks g60, I'm running your rom plus buttered toast and it flies. evo v jpbr s-off flashed hboot 1.04 thanks leslieanne for all of her throughout and simple guides, upgraded radio and pri, still no prL :( just got a xp machine so I can try it soon :)...ps I'm a audiophile and listen to spotify all the time via bluetooth or wired headset, I've found that if I delete dsp apk @ system/app and download noozxoide via play store reboot to recovery clear cash/dalvik and fix permissions.... way more reliable than dsp

First off... Thanks for doing this... I made this mistake of not checking for actual downloadable files on the "main line" CyanogenMod site and I thought I was stuck.

Second, my actual question :) I need a play/pause button a heck of a lot more often than I need dedicated camera buttons. Is there an easy way I could turn either the 2D/3D slider (preferred) or the Shutter button into a Play/Pause button?

Thanks!

i am reading that everyone is getting great battery life but mine is seriously sucking ass i am on this rom and have the hboot and radio and pri from Leslie's hack and have the butter toast kernel and for some reason it feels like the juice is being sucked out of my battery. says the screen is what taking up most of my battery but i only have it at 25% - 40% at the most and am mostly on wifi, have data turned off for most of the time when im not on wifi. anyone else experiencing same battery issue or have a fix? would love to your guys' thoughts. Thanks c=

kernel tuner app and I link cores together with minimum 384 and max 1242 on lag free and undervolt 2-3 clicks to the left depending what on what's stable, then set it where it restores values on boot. And realize if you want speed you will sacrifice battery life, this phone is not good on battery. doesn't bother me near as much since I bought a nexus 7 and typically use my phone for a PHONE lol keep in mind I am a rookie, someone will probably have a Better better answer soon. I also bought a anker battery that helped a lot

one more thing I highly recommend is getting properly acquainted with elixer 2 widget and android assistant app, don't feel like explaining every detail but they both are a must have for over all performance in my humble opinion, hope I helped and God bless.

yes yes yes i just noticed an increase in battery life when i lowered the maximum cpu frequency. will def try out your kernel tips also. thanks.

I got the Evo V yesterday, rooted and downgraded the hboot just to install this. I am very happy with it so far! Thank you so much.

Ok so I read through this entire thread - every post - looking for anyone who's had the same problems as me before I make this post. Since I seem to be the only one, I'm assuming I'm doing something wrong, but I'd appreciate the help getting this ROM working as it looks like a beast :)

I first had issues after installing through Boot Manager as a dual-boot ROM (how I test most new ROMS before making the switch to Daily), so I thought "OK it obviously just doesn't play well with Boot Manager" and reinstalled through recovery as usual - Backup Mobster, wipe everything except SD, install HTCCM10, install gapps (JB), install Titanium, reboot. Same issues as before, which are as follows:
-"AOSP Keyboard has stopped unexpectedly" pops up about every ten seconds, and Keyboard will NEVER actually open.
-Can't receive calls. Didn't try SMS/MMS but was able to make a call.
-Web browser won't open.
-Home and Search capacitive keys aren't functional.
-Superuser only works about half the time.
-Everything is extremely sluggish.

That's just what I noticed in about a half hour of testing. Possibly more not working but I need this phone for work calls and did not have time to do a lot of testing. Only installed this ROM when I did because based on the comments in the thread, it appears to be rock solid minus 3D.

What I tried:
I let it set in for a while, even tried rebooting several times, and even though I doubted it would make a difference I installed Buttered Toast (no difference).
I redownloaded, checked MD5, reinstalled through recovery, same result.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance and let me know anything I can do to help diagnose problems.

Overall, awesome ROM. Much better than anything from the Triumph, but it is funny how CM9 on the triumph the camera wasn't working and on this the 3D doesn't work. No surprise though, I'm sure it's difficult. Battery life seemed to be okay, then I changed the governor to interactive and it got worse. Ondemand appears to be the best, without being really slow. I use an app called llama that I have set up to turn off mobile data after the screen being off for more than 7 min, which really seems to help battery life overnight. Looking forward to some future updates though!!
